You should find out from a VJ member whose spouse is from the same country as yours exactly what is required

my wife has sent me the following:

- DS-230 parts 1 and 2 with part 1 signed

- certified copy of birth certificate

- certified copy of marriage certificate

- copy of bio data of passport

- police and NBI clearance

can anyone share what they have and what i need to send and do i have to send part 2 of the DS-230 as well? do we have to wait for the DS-230 to come in the mail or can we just mail it once it's been generated just like the other documents? i'm just worried that i may leave something out. hope someone can provide the list

Your list of documents looks good. If the spouse has NOT lived outside Phils you won't need the Police Clearance. Be sure the NBI has her thumbprint in lower right corner, and it states for "travel abroad" and states "no criminal record". I have same info here waiting for the DS230 to be generated. Send the completed Part 2 along with the Part 1, but DO NOT SIGN THAT. It is signed at the interview.

You are just a few days ahead of us in the processing. I did not to the shortcut to submit the AOS fee bill but waited for the actual bill to arrive in the mail, and I mailed the fee snail mail and not express. I figure that track isn't quite as critical as the DS230 track. I have the IV fee bill generated also on Oct 9, but not received as of yesterday. I will express that in, then wait for the DS230 to be sent. I will do the cover letter shortcut for that when I know it's been generated.

I saw in your signature that our IV bills were generated at the same time, Oct 9. However, my husband (petitioner/choice of agent) did not receive it yet.

I am also from the Philippines and working on both K3 and IR. I was hoping that the case will be completed as soon as possible. My prayer is for the physical file to reach the USE in Manila before my interview date for the K3 visa. So I can use that date to interview for the IR. I iam not sure if the Embassy will let me but I've read in some post that they allow it. So I will try my luck..

My DS230 and all supporting documents are with my husband, ready for mailing as soon NVC says the DS230 has been generated. My husband wants to follow the steps by the letter. That means no shortcuts for us...I can't blame him. He has been filling out forms for the past months. My poor hubby...LOL

thanks for the responses. i had my wife checked about the "travel abroad" on her NBI clearance coz it says something like "travel to US". they told her that it will work since she will be travelling to the US anyways and that's what they put on the clearance now.

she just sent me the rest of the DS-230 package via LBC. 1300PHP for 4 day shipping? yikes! i didn't even need it that fast since the DS-230 hasn't been generated yet. but that's the only service they had. was gonna use regular post office but it was like 800PHP and i have less trust with them

well it's almost 2 weeks and still no IV bill in the mail i want this case to be closed ASAP so i can go back and spend time with wifey

well you're in Ohio, it's closer to New Hampshire i guess. BTW, how much is this IV bill. heard it was around $300. true? false? close?

i could've drove from California to New Hampshire, pick up my IV bill and drove back and still beat the mail

Received our Immigrant Visa Bill today Oct 19, date of Oct 10 on it. I can confirm it is $380

thanks. wow $380? to think we should get express mail with that. hell, i'll add another $14 to get this delivered to me next day. all online stores give you at least the option
