Hello All!

Another question: I know that there is a barcode that needs to be included with the affidavit of support and other financial documents that I have to send now to the NVC. I have been trying to search for the link, but have had no luck. Does anyone know of a faster way to get that barcode, rather than me having to wait for the NVC to mail it to me? I really want to save those few weeks.

Thanks!

Just wondering: Is there a certain format that needs to be followed for the police certificate? My husband and I were under the impression that he would need to get that at the time of his medical, but luckily thanks to the link Srey provided me, I saw that we need this now!

Thanks for your help :-)

Hello Everyone,

I called the NVC today and received the NVC Case # and Invoice Identification #. Now when I am trying to input them both online to make the payment, and it keeps telling me that the combination of what I have entered is not matching their system. I don't understand how that's possible as I just received this from the NVC this morning and I also verified both numbers over the phone with the representative.

Do I have to wait before I can make a payment?

Hello All,

I could have sworn I have posted this question before on this forum before, but for some reason I am now unable to find it. So sorry, but I am re-posting this to verify the information that I have gotten. Regarding the Police Certificate, does that have to be done from the place of residence or place of birth of the beneficiary? I was under the impression that the police certification should be from the location of his permanent residence (which would be Jammu). http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police

AND

If I were to go by the links above, then it seems that my husband would need a verification from each city he has lived in over the past 10 years (which does nto seem practical to me at all). Any thoughts?? I would really appreciate any input anyone has on this.

Thanks!!

If he's resided in any area of his current country for longer than 6 months, then I believe he must get a police certificate from that local area. If the local police covers the same area as two or more of his residences, I would think that you do not have to get multiple criminal record checks done for that same area.

In Canada, I know that I can get my criminal record check from the RCMP. They are Federal Police so they cover all of Canada.

If he's lived in a different country for longer than 12 months, then he must get a criminal record check from that other country, too.

For more specific instructions pertaining to India, see here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9215

Hi Everyone,

I paid the AOS fee on 10/10, and I told my hubby to send the email assigning me as his agent that same day (which was 10/11 according to India and the night of 10/10 for us). He has not yet received any confirmation or acceptance email from the NVC, and because of that I am unable to pay the IV fee. Should I have him resend the email? Or should we wait?

my husband sent his on the 9th and still no confirmation i was wondering if it needed to be sent again too

Is anyone else still waiting for a confirmation from NVC for the agent confirmation? My husband sent the email almost two weeks ago now, and we still have no response from the NVC.

HI,

Another question. I just sent out the AOS packet today, and I was wondering how long should it take for the NVC to process this so that I can pay the other fee of $230 and send the IV packet?
