We were denied on a misrepresentation at our interview on a K1 in January 2012.

We had 2 congressional inquiries requesting a 2nd interview because of some additional evidence - not granted. On the 3rd congressional inquiry to see if our case had been forwarded to the NVC and then USCIS, we found out the Mumbai Consulate had put our petition "on hold". Two more congressional inquiries told us that we are in Administrative Processing - which we don't quite understand. It's been 6 months now and still nothing. I make bi-weekly calls to the DOS for possible updates. I understand your frustration completely and yes we too often wonder if our case is just sitting collecting dust seeing as we were given a denial. Nothing seems to make sense.

Best of luck to you!

I am worried as i mentioned before in another tread my husband had the interview 12-05-11 and been on Mandatory AP since than. Some one mentioned to me that even when the consulate tells you a case is under mandatory AP it can all be a lie and your files just ends up in a forgatten corner gathering dust.

Anyone can lie. "Can" implies ability. "May" implies authority. I don't think they are allowed to lie, but I'm sure some people do.

I don't know if they are lying but I read one post from a visa journey's member who was under AP for 2 years and she stated: "the Chief of the visa section at the Jerusalem Consulate, was shocked when he found out, according to him, that nobody was working on my case for 2 years." The best thing to do is to contact your senator and congressman to make sure that they are working on your case.

Is incredible the amount of responses i have got, I thank you again all for taking the time. and i am also very sorry to hear some of you have faced or are currently faceing similar wituations hope it all comes to an end soon "a good outcome"... As far as contacting my congressman i did so this morning and they recoment we wait at least until the end of the months before another inquiry since the first one was send May 22. they stated they usually inquire every three months, so i will than wait and call back by the end of this months hopeing that by this time all will be resolved.

So i wrote to the consulate again, and ask for an update on my husband's case, and i have got a different response this time.. due to their work load an individuals case may take up to a year and that they could not expedite the process"

I been given so many dates, first from 1-3 months, than 3-6 and now they are saying it could be a year. OMG this situation seems to be getting more desperate every day!...hold on tight and hope that this can come to an end soon is all We can do for now.
