I am worried as i mentioned before in another tread my husband had the interview 12-05-11 and been on Mandatory AP since than. Some one mentioned to me that even when the consulate tells you a case is under mandatory AP it can all be a lie and your files just ends up in a forgatten corner gathering dust. i WONDER what are the true facts about this. was this person some how telling the true or trying to discourage me or in fact the consulate can provide false information about a case! Seven months in AP seems way too long and i am very worried so is my husband because all we want is to be together! and time passes by so slowly...Life is so ironic my husband has ask me to move to Egypt since the day we got married and I am the one who wants him in USA so we can offer a better future to our son. I will love to hear your advice! And i have to say im blessed to have found this website is always rewarding to feel there is people out there for you .

Can they lie to you, yes. The Supreme Court said so.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

In Egypt I have seen AP range from mere days (ours was little over 3 weeks, to a couple of years). Sadly, it sounds like they consider your husband high risk. Wish I had some advice to give you but sadly I don't. Maybe moving there wouldn't be the worst idea while you wait for them to make their decision.

Do you have your congressman involved? If not please do so NOW. Egypt is known for sitting on cases where the woman is older and there are other red flags...like different religions, races, previous petitions, previous marriages, kids, married first visit. Have only been together in person a couple weeks total. Chats only weekly and minimal phone calls. American wife changed religions after relationship started.

What red flags do you have?

Your congressman can make a congressional inquiry and then they have to respond to him/her within less than a week. and it makes someone pick up your file to answer them.

If the EGYPT embassy states MANDATORY administrative processing then it is in background or name checks for Washington. If the embassy says it is INTERNAL Administrative Processing then they are checking your documents or relationship and it is done on the embassy level.

Good luck

Yes they say MANDATORY, as per the what about of our relathinship i been to Egypt twice got pregnant in my second trip, could not travel during pregnancy due to hight risk pregnancy. i am chatolic my husband muslim i have not declare islam something that my husband stated in the interview i do wear the vail (i study islam now) but have not convert. as far as my chats of phone call with my husband i sent the embassy tons of records since 2007 endless phone bills and chat history. they did question my husband several times if he was certain the baby was his (more than willing to provide with a paternal test) but they did not request one. my only thing here is why seat on some ones cases and not just say denial so we can decide what to do with our life.. im holding on to USA because like many immigrants we want a better life. AS far as the Congressman yes i did visit their office and they kindly send an email great attitude and willing to help but the emmbassy replied the next day with the same thing MANDATORY AP. Hopeing this night mare will come to an end soon because my relationship with my husband despite the distance is a stong i think every one gets tired of waiting and is to hard for the three of us. My son is gorowing up without the father figure and is so hard for me to see so families together and i am here missing mine. just one document that set us appart and that could bring us together how ironic

No the other way around im older by 10 yrs but im thinking from day one this will represent a problem, the congressman office said to me that the age difference is not a problem but i think this is the entire deal. who knows. at the end if i dont get my husband to USA i will relocate to

Egypt and i know my husband will say to me I TOLD YOU SO since day one he wanted me to stay in Egypt so did his family. Im greatful to have a family who loves me in Egypt so if my husband do not get the visa perhaps they will all make this transition better i think im just afraid of the change.

But God willing as you say he will get his visa soon and this will be let behind.. a saw your port entry was CHICAGO so i suppose you and your wife live in chicago, mee too.. is a great city i wish you the best and only the very best

So, that was ONE reach out to the Congressman's office, with one response.

Now it's time for another.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

No, I don't think that Embassy staff lie. But not hearing when, why, or for how long is very nerve-racking. Li & I were only in AP for 99 days at GUZ and mentally that was far too long. I cannot imagine 7 months. I agree that Congressional follow-up is necessary. At least, it would be a lot cheaper than paying a lawyer to assist with a Writ of Mandamus. One week after my second request to my Senator's office for follow-up, my AP was over. I can't say that it was because of it. But I'm sure it didn't hurt either.
