Does any NVC Jun filer get Case Number yet?

I just got off the phone with the NVC. (On hold for about 5 min before someone picked up, 4:45pm PST when I rang.)

We received our NOA2 on May 17th - and then radio silence.

Apparently the file arrived at the NVC on June 25th - and NVC just sent it to Sydney on 7/2. I asked the guy for our case number and he gave it to me.

Very friendly, nice person on the phone - but very frustrating ~6.5 week wait.

Best of luck to everyone else!

Timeline:

Met online - 2005

Started dating - 2008

10 trips, 400+ days together - 2008-2012

NOA1, CVC - 14 December 2011

NOA2, CVC - 17 May 2012 (155 days)

File arrived at the NVC on 6/25/2012 - that's 5.5 weeks or so from the NOA2

NVC said that they sent it onward to Sydney on 7/2/2012

it's been 28.days , my case still hasn't got to NVC yet , a liitle bit worried that I really have to wait for 4 month, god!

Mine took 28 days. Hopefully yours won't be too much longer. =)

In other news, I've called the NVC so many times over the past 4 and a half weeks that I'm starting to get a little crazy out of boredom. Someone in an earlier thread mentioned wondering what would happen if you made the NVC operators wait when they came on the phone. I did that somewhat the other night. =P They asked if I wanted to enter an email for the beneficiary, and I said "yes" but then remembered I didn't know which of his emails was the "professional" one. So I tried to quickly message him on AIM, but he wasn't responding fast enough and I just kind of went silent for about 30 seconds before the operator lady was like "I can't stay on the phone with you all night!" By then I finally got an email and gave it to her. But that was pretty amusing, considering she was a rude operator anyway. I guess 30 seconds is as long as they will hold for you, but we have to wait forever for them.

My next thing I was pondering was "what would happen if when the operator came on the line, I was humming/singing along to the hold music really loudly?"

They'd need to pipe in some catchier music to get me hummin'

That's what makes it so funny. =P It's such horrible, patchy, bad music that if you were humming along to it like it was something good, they would probably wonder "WHAT is this weirdo doing...?!"

My case is in NVC today, wonder how long to wait to get a case number?

Maybe another 10 business days or so? Hopefully it's sooner!

Congrats to everyone with an approved NOA2!

I was approved Friday, June 29th, 2012. (Last week)

Today I received the NOA2 in the mail, so four business days after it was approved. From what I've read, my next step is to call the NVC and retrieve the case number. Once I have that ... well, I'm in the dark.

Question #1: What is the number to call the NVC?

Fact #1: If I don't have one soon, I can email them at nvcresearch@state.gov to have them research my case for me.

Question #2: When do I send the information on my affidavit of support and proof of an ongoing relationship?

Question #3: Where do I send that information to?

Huge thanks to everyone helping me out!

Hang in there - it's almost over =)

Here is something that answered some of my questions:

"

After the NOA2, USCIS sends the package to NVC, NVC then forwards it onto the consulate in the beneficiary's home country. The consulate will then contact the beneficiary with steps on what needs to be provided prior to the interview.

Your fiance should have made a copy of the package and sent it to you so that you know the contents of it.

For you, since it's been over a month since it was approved, there's no harm in calling NVC to see where it is. They can tell you if they've assigned a case number to it and forwarded it to the consulate. No harm in calling.

So it sounds like I don't need to call the NVC at all. I just wait until my foreign fiancee receives the instructions in her mailbox, which sounds like it may take up to a month.

If you are waiting for further instructions it might be advisable to look at the embassy portal and fill out the forms that will be requested with packet 3.5 so you can respond to it quickly.

Go ahead and call them to make sure your case is on its way to the consulate/embassy.. they will give you your new case # and that is what you will need if you call DoS to see what is going on at the consular/embassy stage. many countries do not communicate well with USC's and the DoS phone # is a great resource.

Hey everyone,

I got my I-130 approved on June 26, and the NVC received it on July 9th. I tried calling again today, but no luck with a case #. Does everything seem to be normal and in order in regards to my situation? According to what everyone is saying, should I be receiving the case # by the end of this week or next? Thanks.
