You can get married to a greencard holder, but you cannot stay based on that, as you'll need to wait for your priority date to become current, which takes about 3 years for greencard holder spouses.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Once you are married your wife (the greencard holder) can petition you for a marriage visa. You will need to leave the US when your student visa is up, unless you can get anotehr visa.

It is always up to the CBP at the border if you can come back in but yes, that should be no problem with two years of studies remaining.
