Hello everyone,

I am new to this website, but it looks great place to get some helpful tips about immigration info.

I am a U.S citizen, and I filed for my father who lives in Saudi Arabia for visa (Immigrant Visa). The U.S embassy in Riyadh reuested some documentation including DNA. All the documents (Iqama which is residency card) and the DNA result were sent. The embassy is asking again a copy of the Igama (residency card). I do not understand why they ask something that is already on file again. Any ideas how to avoid this problem resending papers again and again?

Thaks

Mohamed

You've been asked for a copy of one item that seems to have been misplaced. Simply send another copy and keep the process moving toward the visa.

When dealing with the US government bureaucracy it's always best to accept that there is a certain amount of ineptitude, and just jump through whatever hoops they put in your way. Someone at the consulate may have lost the copy of your father's resident card. Someone may have simply overlooked it in the file and sent a request for it. Whatever the reason, they probably aren't going to do anything else with his file because the computer says they are waiting for him to send this document. The path of least resistance is to just send it and allow the case to begin moving again.
