But you got a case complete, be happy!! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

And NEVER listen to those damn operators about missing cut-off dates. It's just a line from their book of scripts.

Thanks Saylin. Yes I'm happy but right after the good news they told me the bad one and my feelings got so mixed up lol.

Do you think that still there is a chance of getting September interview?

FWIW, I was told by an operator (and supervisor) one evening that there were no interview dates available for the following month, the very next day I called again and was told an interview had been scheduled for that next month. YMMV but I thought I would mention this to you as an example that there is a chance.

It's ALWAYS possible! There's lots of proof of getting interviews in months when the operator has previously stated it's full (like with Ryan, above).

Thanks for moral support and advise Ryan and Saylin.

Hope the same happens to me cause I don't really get it why they should keep a completed case for 1+ months! To me it doesn't make any sense!!!

Moreover my case no. was assigned on July 27, it ends with 001 and there are just a few petitions from where I come from

I just called NVC a few minutes ago and found out that my case was complete on August 27! It's so nice to have that out of the way, especially with the checklist that was sent for the AOS package...

Now I'm wondering how long it will take for us to get our interview scheduled at the embassy in Tokyo, but I guess that depends on what their schedule is like. Will calling NVC help in trying to get an interview date scheduled?

(Regardless of waiting for the interview to be scheduled, I am so glad to have this case complete! We're making progress!)

Grats on the case complete! kicking.gif

As for the interview schedule, it varies by country. Some people find out within a few days, others a few weeks.

The only point of calling NVC and/or DOS is to find out your interview date asap. It won't help in getting a sooner interview date.

Saylin,

Thank you - that is very helpful! I've actually spoken to several friendly operators at NVC, so I have no desire to make their job more difficult than it must be.

For what it's worth, as long as we can make the move in December I would be fine with a later interview date. Then again, the sooner we know when that interview is the better! (This is not only for planning purposes but also to schedule the medical exam. Going to an eligible clinic requires a bit of travel on our part...)

Yeah, if you don't want to call, you definitely don't have to. You'll receive the interview letter a few hours (typically) after the interview date is scheduled.

If Japan is anything like the world average, it'll probably be around 2 months from case complete to interview date, so I'm thinking sometime in October for you.

You just found out with just 13 days notice? Was there just a long delay finding out the date, or did they just give you a quick interview date?

On your timeline what was packet 3 that you sent on August 30th, the same day you found out about your interview date?
