We finally sent out our AOS and IV packages last week on August 7 and 9, respectively. I remember reading in the guide somewhere that said it takes about a week to process the packages (unfortunately I have no way of confirming when the packages will arrive, and the operators have spoken to have given the usual "20 business days" answer, which isn't terribly helpful…)

Assuming we don't receive any checklists, how soon do you think we will get a case complete?

interesting that a dos operator told me that my case has to be reviewed by china customs before reaching the embassy. i know this is false and swear i read somewhere that online process goes directly to the embassy than china customs.

can someone confirm?

EP Cases to Guangzhou IV bypass China Customs, as they are NEVER sent out via DHL.

SAFEFILE is used, solely, for EP CaseFiles headed to Guangzhou IV. The date that you received the appointment letter is the date that the casefile was opened in Guangzhou.

I have a Q:

My case was expedited And NVC told us that it was send to US embassy Aug9, If i have some concerns i will contact the US embassy instead.

Now I registered our case (CR1 category) online in our US embassy website, after that there is an option : schedule an interview?

So i click that option and gave me series of dates on when to schedule an interview-- i choose Sep 12 & they gave me a confirmation appointment.

I am not sure if i am doing the right thing. So I called the US embassy hotline & talk to an agent.

I ask them if my case Was already there or arrived in the US embassy,

But they cant confirm to me that my case is alteady there. So they ask me some Q regarding my case & passport. And told me that my interview is on Sep 12.

I told them that i was the one who pick the interview date from their website options not the NVC bec my case was expedited. The agent told me-""- its okay because by the time of your interview your case will arrive, it will take with in a month for a case to arrive in US Embassy from NVC""

In addition the Agent advice me to take the physical exam 1-2weeks before the interview date.

So i guess that was it,, sep 12 it is.

Does anyone here experience the same way i have??

Did I make the right thing???

Or ill wait until my case will arrive at the embassy & their instructions???

PLEASE HELP ME. I'm still In doubt,

Im scared if by the Time ill go to US Embassy my case is still not there. :(

This is the fastest way.

However, you need to check in with Manila IV about the status of the casefile - they cannot schedule you until it actually arrives and then they have to OPEN the casefile.

Once the casefile is opened, they CAN schedule you. Getting on the schedule requires a phone call.

I have a Q:

I say call DoS Hotline and inquire for casefile status.

When you hear 'casefile opened'

then call Manila IV, ask for earlier appointment date.

What is DoS (dep of state)?

I look on the Dep of stAte hotline in the Philippines

Their hotline is all about child rights, child protection, visayann forum, etc.. Theirs nothing about immigrant case nor non-immigrant. :(

Now im super confused.. :(

Can u help & provide me the exact hotline? Pls.

Thanks

yer so bad !

DoS Hotline - click the girls under my name, study left panel, DoS Hotline # is there.

It's a # in the USA, so best to engage with yer USCitizen Spouse to 'make that call' on a regular basis, then email you when he/she hears of 'casefile opened' status.
