The very nice very sweet CSC Tier 2 supervisor lady wrote a very fast email stating it has been 4 weeks and this petition has been approve please forward to NVC immediately without delay and she gave me a Confirmation number. I have read on here that people waiting on the NVC should call everyday. But, I wonder what it does. A few days ago, Saylin responded to someone who posted about their luck after calling:

Calling doesn't speed up anything. If it did, everyone here on VJ would be calling 24/7 and get an interview date within an hour. If it's costing you to call, then I suggest don't bother, and just wait for the interview letter.

Just to get an update about case and save time. If you rely on NVC snail mail then you will just waste your time. Many members here and not eligible for electronic processing. Its is best to call NVC and ask about update.

Peace of mind just hearing a voice. Also you never know when you get that really nice person who talks and tells you whats up. One person on the day they said case received they also got their case number. No it takes 20 days. The woman went the extra mile and said oh lets just do it all now. two days later she got the IIN#.

I call everyday because as said before I am not waiting on snail mail. If I did I would have never ever known to email nvcresearch to fond out my case isn't not even at NVC. Its been 30 days and just yesterday found out my case was still sitting at CSC. So nope call i must 2 3 times a day until I hear "case received" and "your case # and IIN# is".

Yes it's true, you don't have to call the NVC. But it's the quickest way to get our case number. Once we get our case number, we give them our e-mail addresses and that gets the ball rolling on our case. We all wanna get our spouses their greencards quick and the thought of wasting one minute waiting for "Don't call us, we'll call (actually snail mail) you," is unthinkable. Haha call us crazy, because I did kind of go crazy calling 3 times a day like dwheels. But if you don't want to do that, call every couple of days. But calling definitely helps get the ball rolling faster.

Dwheels, you should add that bit about the USCIS to your timeline.

Sorry, I just realized, you were quoting from Saylin about calling for an interview date, not a case number. And that answer is simple. It's cheaper and easier to plan traveling to the interview with as much anticipation as possible. If you wait for snail mail, it will take that much longer before you can plan your trip.

Yes, it's all live! and most of them are very nice! Even the ones who are like, "so, when was your approval notice sent to you? Oh, please give us 20 business days to enter your case into our system." meh, I just say "thank you" and wait a few hours and call back.

First off, please realise you're quoting something in response to calling about an INTERVIEW date. At that point, calling won't do anything. Most people get notice within a few hours. Now, calling about the case number is one of the most important times to call as if you don't give email addresses once a case number is assigned, then correspondence is sent out by snail mail, which can take WEEKS to arrive (compared to a few days by email).

Basically, to sum up: calling is important because it keeps you the most up to date as possible on your case.

LOL so true 3 times sometimes more depends if I was bored at work. I mean its 20 or so minutes on hold and a 20sec call. And so glad I am tenacious (some say #######) about getting information because I would have never known my case was sitting still at USCIS.

So I can't be mad at NVC they don't know I exist. But this week BABy they surely will hear me.

And I do have my ticker tracker see the "case" travelin down the rode. Hehe

Please just let me hear Case Received.

I will probably leave them monday (ha) but also was given a confirmation #. So looks all is good. And she told them to process immediately upon receipt of case.

I am so ready.
