Grats to both of you! Hopefully a case complete next week ;)

I wish. I'm sending from Brazil and the quickest option takes about a week just to get there.

At least I can keep my mind free from this for a little bit.

Hey, I have a question...should I be calling to find out if they received and accepted my AOS package? Saylin, you said it takes about a week to review, right? And when they say accepted, it means approved...correct? Or is there some kind of approval process that goes on in the interview? Sorry! I thought I'd be out of questions by now! Thanks in advance!

Yes, I suggest calling to be as up to date as possible on your case.

Yup, currently taking around a week to review (could be shorter, could be longer) packages.

And in a general sense, yes, accepted means approved, but the consulate/embassy still has a final say in the matter. They might think you're not earning enough income (to their standards) and may request a co-sponsor. So, even if it's accepted now, it may not be at the interview. But this usually only happens in stricter countries, not sure about Mexico.

Thank you Saylin!! What I was planning on doing for the interview is have my hubby bring the i-864 packet all ready to go from my joint-sponsor and an i864 from myself, since i-864EZ's can't have a joint sponsor and that's what was in the original package. Anyway, would that work?

Yup, going prepared with a joint sponsor to the interview is an EXCELLENT idea! That way, if they do request one, you can hand over the papers right away and save you time in AP. good.gifgood.gifgood.gif

That is a great idea. Even though I'm not really close to being under the dollar amount, I may get co-sponsor paperwork ready just in case. Better to be prepared for anything!

HI folks,

Good new for today is that i just received my Case number and IIN.

Bad news is that they assigned US EMBASSY IN ISLAMABAD FOR INTERVIEW instead of US EMBASSY IN ABU DHABI :(:crying::angry:

I have been living in Dubai from last three years.

Question: if i send them my proof of residency (Copy of residence visa, copy of Overseas National ID card and copy of Emirates ID) will they change the case number?? will this thing cause more delays? Where should i send the request to change the Embassy?

Guys, could you please help me on this one

Saylin, hope you know the answer or can advise where to dig the info

thank you!

I'm not entirely sure, but a phone call to NVC will tell you exactly what you need to know. It'll probably have to wait until you get a case number assigned though. But still worth calling them up and asking what the exact procedure will be.

Emailed the 3032 on July 12th and till now still no acceptance...

Have you been following the EP wiki for China (linked on the first post)?

Grats on getting your case number! kicking.gif

I suggest calling them up asap. They'll tell you what you need to do to change embassies (if anything). Yes, this will result in a new case number (each case number has the three-letter country code at the beginning for where you're interviewing). Of course this will cause delays as they need to change your information. How long the delay will be, no one can predict. Could be a couple of days, could be longer. But if they assigned a wrong embassy, then it needs to get fixed.

Hi Saylin, yeah I followed the guides, except one thing, I used the 3032 from NVC (with GUZ# and barcode, and name printed on it), except the stock 3032. Because during these 2 weeks I have paid AOS and OPTIN so GUZ# is now GZO#, I am not sure if this is causing problems.

this was my last week's post here, where Darnell answered by today I should get the 3032 accepted.

Can someone tell me the meaning of priority date and its usefulness in the visa journey process.

For IR-1/CR-1 visas, the priority date means nothing. This date is only important for other vises where there's a limited number per year. Since IR-1/CR-1 have an unlimited number, it doesn't mean anything. For others though, it means a lot (when they're eligible for a visa).
