Thanks, Saylin! Yes, you're right. I was meshing the wording of the AOS cover letter instructions with the instructions in the NVC's e-mail with the DS-3032.

It's so funny, I get all excited about stuff and no one gets it...I'm like, I got to pay a fee today! And get funny looks....

Just got this via email:

The NVC completed its processing of XXXXXXXX's visa petition.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in DAKAR, SENEGAL. When an interview appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

Let's hope it doesn't take another month to get an interview scheduled!

Twice a week I send status update emails with the case number in the subject and the following info in the body of the message:

NVC Case No

CIS Case No

Petitioner's Name

Petitioner's Date of Birth

Beneficiary's Name

Beneficiary's Date of Birth

It usually takes about 10 days to get a reply. This is why I send it twice a week, so throughout the entire process I am consistently updated on the status. I even sent an email yesterday to the embassy where my husband will do his interview. Although they replied in one day but said the NVC will schedule our interview.

I just called the NVC regarding an interview date for our case and I was told that due to the embassy's limited capacity, no interviews are being scheduled for the month of August! I was hoping my husband and I would be on a plane back to the U.S. before Labor Day!

I have found the emails to be far more reliable than the telephone operators.

Surely two emails per week is a lot less congestive then the daily calls made by others. It's also more reliable than calling.

AOS shows as 'Paid' as of this morning. IV still shows 'In Process'. I am expecting this to clear by tomorrow and will send everything together.

Are there any disadvantages of sending both the packets together? I will make sure I clearly separate them out and have NVC's cover sheet on top of each packet.

Also, I have a cover letter for the IV packet that I, the petitioner will sign and date. I am indicated as the agent on file. This wouldn't cause any problems, would it? Just want to be sure.

See to me this is one of those bloody government arms not wanting to deal or talk to the other. I mean didn't our case start at USCIS didn't they scan the dang thing. So when they ship why aren't these agencies accessing the same database (or is that too much like right).

Yesterday I received my IV bill. Paid it this morning. I'm going back through the DS-230...making a list and checking it twice ♫♪ ...and preparing to send that puppy off as soon as I see the PAID status.

Here goes EVERYTHING!... let the waiting begin... again. I'm seriously afraid to ask how long approximately until case complete?

The only disadvantage is that NVC won't get your AOS as soon as possible. But in your case, it looks like a difference of one way, so not a big deal.

And no, it doesn't really matter who signs a cover letter. I personally signed my own IV cover letter as the IV package is about the beneficiary.

It's currently taking NVC around a week to review packages once they've been delivered
