Just got off the phone with an agent who told me there are no updates on the case.

I at least expected them to know of the DS-3032. She said that they haven't even asked for it yet.

Is it possible that I sent my DS-3032 too early? Should I resend? Are there any consequences for resending it?

The AOS disappeared from the payment portal on Friday morning. I am hoping I get to pay the invoice today. I feel my case is moving very slowly. Is it just me, or are others experiencing this too?

The operators won't know anything about your DS-3032 until it's been looked at. It's just like with the two packages, the operators don't know anything until an officer has gotten to them.

I wouldn't suggest re-sending; just wait. The only consequence if you re-send it is you're just gonna further the clogging of their email servers, which is why it's taking them so long to get to your DS-3032 email in the first place.

I wouldn't suggest waiting until 1 week from the interview to get ready. Get ready NOW. Start going over the form NOW. If you gave all the blank forms to her, would she be able to fill them out perfectly? If not, you should go over them a couple times per week until she can. I don't know how hard India is, but she should know all the answers on the forms like the back of her hand. And go over ALL the questions here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions Tell her to go over the forms and those questions as often as she has time for them.

I don't know anything about VFS. But I don't think you submit anything except the passport. The proof of relationship is brought to the interview. Which, by the way, you should be getting together now (if you haven't gotten it all ready yet).

Hmm, weird. I wonder why they sent you a checklist for the DS-3032. Don't think I've ever seen that before laughing.gif

Anyways, you can send another DS-3032. Won't hurt.

Hi Saylin...update to this crazy checklist I received. My husband did send another electronic DS-3032 on July 20, 2012 (Friday) and got the regular Auto Response. On Saturday...yes, Saturday...he received the letter I posted below.

What is throwing me off is...this was sent to his email address only. Should I have been copied since I'm listed as the agent? I have checked the payment portal to see if I can proceed with the next payment. I cannot. And I haven't received any second notice with instruciton to pay. So I'm waiting again. :D I'm just really happy to know they finally recieved it. Maybe things will move along now.

I personally did not write NVC case number on *any* AOS related documents. I attached only NVC cover sheet (generated after paying AOS bill online) and my personal cover letter (i.e. all NVC case related information as well as list of all attached documents) along with AOS documents.

[...]

Note about receiving an email on the weekend: keep in mind, it was generated before the weekend, during their business hours, it just takes awhile to be sent/received. I personally got my interview letter on a Saturday... at 5am ;)

Anyways, that's the DS-3032 acceptance email. Was it in reply to your original email or the one you sent on Friday? And I didn't send a DS-3032, so I'm not sure, but I'm guessing NVC simply replied to whoever sent the email, not including a copy to the agent selected (this might be too much work for NVC :P)

Keep an eye on the payment portal now. Your IV bill should be invoiced in the next couple of days.

my hubby is about to send off the AOS package.... should he write the case number on all the pages, or should he write it on each document?

Personally, I would recommend writing the case number on the top right of each page. Each page. The only two pages where you do NOT write your case number: bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal and your personal cover letter (if you're including one).

Keep in mind, the reason for writing one's case number on all papers is in case something gets lost. If there's no case number to be found on the paper, then it'll be extremely hard for them to return it to the case file. It's much easier for them to issue a checklist for the document again, then try to re-unite the lost paper.

Remember, the DS-261 has no connection with the AOS bill. The DS-261 is part of the IV track, as is the IV bill.

It's optional. But I recommend it. I included one in both our AOS and IV packages.
