Right, I sent an email to the NVC to correct the spelling of my name as it was incorrect on the payment portal. This has been corrected, although I haven't received any correspondence whatsoever from NVC, not even to acknowledge the email with my passport data.

But now, when I log into the payment portal, the AOS bill – which before said my partner's name next to a box stating "Not Invoiced" – is no longer there.

My correctly-spelt name IS there (so they must have received my email), under the IV bill, which says "Not Invoiced", next to a check-box that cannot be ticked. Is this normal?

Just to clarify, we have NOT paid either bill yet. The case number was only recently assigned. No correspondence from NVC has been received at all.

Any help would be lovely - thanks!

Yeah, some of the operators are actual human beings and do speak truth. Others just read off a script and are a cyborg as you say.

They close at midnight (eastern time), so call again close to that ;)

I should've asked not only what time is the best tiem to be put through quicker, but also the time when the operators are nicer. I have continually been getting longer wait times and meaner operators. I bet the two things are related!

Timeline:

Nov. 2008 - met my husband in Chile

May 2011 - engaged

Dec. 2011 - married

Feb. 20, 2012 - sent in I-130 packet from abroad

March 3, 2012 - NOA1

March 14, 2012 - NOA2

March 21, 2012 - NVC Received

April 4, 2012 - NVC Case Number Received

April 9, 2012 - AOS bill Paid

April 12(ish) - IV bill Paid

June 11, 2012 - AOS and IV packages received by NVC

June 18, 2012 - Checklist received from NVC (to send forms that I am not even supposed to have!)

June 20, 2012 - IV packet approved

June 26, 2012 - AOS Checklist response sent

July 18, 2012 - Case complete

August 23, 2012 - Medical Appointment

September 26, 2012 - Interview - supposedly approved but put on Administrative Processing :-(

October 18, 2021 - Received Visa

Dec. 13, 2012 - POE at Miami

Dec. 20, 2012 - received Social Security Card

Jan. 3, 2013 - received Greencard

Guys guess what I just got my case #, IIN, and Beneficiary ID and gave my e-mail address!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!

I make above poverty line, only one at the household at this point and will be sponsoring only one person (spouse on CR1). I was a student on my 2010 return (thus no income), have sufficient income on 2011 and 2012 IRS tax returns. can I file 864EZ or I need 864 for AOS ?

Yes, what Saylin said. ;)

Yeah, some of the operators are actual human beings and do speak truth. Others just read off a script and are a cyborg as you say.

I figured out that it doesn't really change in the evening after 6 since people aren't working.... Or does it??

I know, we can't write off all the NVC operators, some are very nice.

OK, so the operator today (who was one of the nice ones!) told me that I shouldn't do anything, just wait a few days until I get my bill invoice by e-mail. And I don't need an optin since mine's MEP. I just have to wait for my invoice to do the choice of agent stuff online. Oh and I set the beneficiary's address as my address since I'm doing everything... Anyway, is what she said correct?

The fact that your name was changed on the payment portal does indicate they received your email. You might not get an email response, or it's on its way to you now and might take awhile to receive.

Also, the AOS disappearing is a good indication that they're in the process if invoicing it. Just keep an eye on that payment portal!

I should've asked not only what time is the best tiem to be put through quicker, but also the time when the operators are nicer. I have continually been getting longer wait times and meaner operators. I bet the two things are related!

I'd suggest trying to call NVC at different times from now on. Once you hit a shorter wait time / nicer operators, that's the sweet spot, so stick with it.

Grats on the case number!!!

Yes, since you're an MEP filer, electronic processing is REQUIRED, thus no optin is necessary.

And remember, since your MEP, you're also REQUIRED to do online forms. Which means you do NOT do the DS-3032, but rather the DS-261. It can be found by logging into the forms portal (the link is in the first post). You may not be able to log in there yet (I wasn't able to until the next business day NVC was open). But things may have changed in a year, so definitely try! Once you can log in, complete the DS-261.

hi all, I emailed the 3032 last thursday so it has been a week and I haven't received any acceptance email from them, nor did I get IV invoice. I called NVC yesterday and was told emails are processed by the order they are received, basically not a helpful answer. Is this normal? 3032 acceptance takes quite a couple of days?

So I got my NOA2 at 11:45 PM via a text or email. I'll soon get the official letter by mail soon. I"M SO HAPPY.

Anyway, I have the following questions about the NVC :

How do I get to be an MEP? I'm reading on USCIS site that the I-864EZ package can be scanned as a PDF and sent through Email causing the packaged to be process quickly? Have any of you heard that or done it?

For the DS-230, the beneficiaries birth certificate is required, do you know if this has to also have an apostille apart from the official stamp?

And last, I was divorced but I have sent this on my original I-130 petition. My wife has no previou marriages, so the requirement of sending a divorce certificate with the DS-230, is that for just the beneficiary or do I include mine?

I figured I start wrapping up questions I've had after reading so much on here. Thanks in advance for your answers.

First off, grats on the very recent NOA2! kicking.gif

A MEP case number will be assigned to you at NVC in around a month's time. With this MEP number, you're required to do electronic processing (sending AOS and IV packages by email) and you're also required to do online forms (DS-261 and DS-260).

For the IV package, only the beneficiaries divorce certificate(s) are required, not the petitioners (those were sent in with the I-130 petition).

I suggest while you're waiting for your case number to return to the first post in this thread and click on all the links and read, read, and read :)
