Just on contacting the NVC to inquire about whether interview is scheduled, was told not yet and also that scheduling of August interviews in Mumbai, India has already completed and closed 2 days ago, on Tuesday.

Could this be misleading info from the agent? Has any VJ members received a interview email for Mumbai in the last week or so?

Yes I think instead of sending it Eastward they sent them west and they are doing an around the world tour. Good grief. Unreal. Wish there was tracking on these like when they send off to embassy. Well today is business day 15. What will they say now. I think I will wait for 11pm EDT.

I make above poverty line, only one at the household at this point and will be sponsoring only one person (spouse on CR1). I was a student on my 2010 return (thus no income), have sufficient income on 2011 and 2012 IRS tax returns. can I file 864EZ or I need 864 for AOS ?

Call up NVC asap and get those email addresses given to an operator. If they don't have your email addresses on file, they're gonna snail mail all correspondence to you, which takes significantly longer than email does.

Just on contacting the NVC to inquire about whether interview is scheduled, was told not yet and also that scheduling of August interviews in Mumbai, India has already completed and closed 2 days ago, on Tuesday.

Yes, it's misleading. Did the operator even check this or just started spouting off this nonsense? They schedule interviews all month long.

If you qualify for the I-864EZ (there's 3 requirements), then by all means, fill that form out instead the I-864. It's a much shorter form, thus easier. My husband and I did the I-864EZ and, as it says in the name, it was easy.

I always called at 5pm EST and got through in under 5 minutes. I assumed this was because this was the time when everyone on the east coast was getting off work and heading home.

I've also heard bright and early in the morning (right when they open) and really late at night (right before they closed) are also very good times to call.

Thanks to both! I will try what you say, although with the time difference it might be a bit harder from here. NVC is east coast, right? NH?

Yup, NVC is east coast in New Hampshire. What's the time difference from where you are?

Yeah, some of the operators are actual human beings and do speak truth. Others just read off a script and are a cyborg as you say.

They close at midnight (eastern time), so call again close to that ;)
