I swear this green with envy is a good color. Congrats I am right behind you . Howvever,

why is NVC asking me to scan them a copy of the approval letter this letter seems to really be an issue with the, I have read it 4 times and everyone says hmmmm thats wrong or I am calling wrong place. Doesnt everyone else says the following.

Notice Type: Approval Notice

Section: Husband or Wife of U.S. Citizen, 201 (b) INA

"The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC) 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909. NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action. It also determines which consular post is the appropriate consulate to complete visa processing. NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate.

The NVC wil contact the person for whom you are petitioning (beneficiary) concerning further immigrant visa processing steps.

That's the right letter, don't worry about it. After 15 business days, some operators suggest sending a copy of the NOA2 to them. They'll then reply that your case hasn't been received yet because USCIS hasn't sent it, blah blah blah. You can send them a copy if you want, but it might just be better to wait as you're not over the typical one month average yet.

Okay you showing off naw o. Abi. So happy for you really. Cuz now i have another one in front blazin the trail. Toot Toot watch out I am not far behind. Tomorrow is 15 business days. Case and invoice same day man. Okay I claim a received, case# and invoice# all tomorrow. Ya hear me.

Saylin I hear ya and I am holdin tight. they must have very new people who seem very confused. I will breathe deppyly call one more time after 6pm than its on tomorrow. LOL

am sure those you spoke to, must be some INTERNS there so they dont know what they are saying........ just scan your approval notice to them, lets know what the outcome will be.... and i claim it with you too, tomorrow will be the day .......... remember am still doing the running man dance for you

Ok so from what I have read only after your case gets forwarded to the consulate you can request to change your appt. Once there do you call the consulate or email them or both?

Yes, foreign consulate does not know anything about your case until it's forwarded by NVC. You can call and/or email your consulate after interview date is assigned, probably give them few days after date is assigned and then contact.

Ditto. That's what they told me but my scanner was broken so I never sent it and my petition arrived just fine. Just hang in there!

Currently it's taking around one month from NOA2 to case number assigned. It's then a few days from case number assigned to AOS being invoiced. It's about a week to get to your DS-3032 email, and another few days after that for the IV to be invoiced (once DS-3032 is accepted). It's also taking around one week to review packages.

Now, please keep in mind, these aren't set in stone time frames. They're just averages. And with averages comes cases that go faster and cases that go slower.

Just keep calling every day. You'll get your case number very soon

NVC case number and IIN gets generated at the same time. IIN is needed to login to their payment portal to make AOS and IV payments online.

In my case operator did give only case number initially. I called up again after 15 minutes and got IIN from other operator. But both will be available at the same time, but some operators may say BS for not giving IIN.
