It's almost July, here's the monthly NVC thread. Frequently Asked Questions:

Either tax transcripts ordered from the IRS, OR tax returns PLUS W2's PLUS all applicable schedules - in short, everything you sent to the IRS.

If the petitioner answered YES to all 3 questions, that only gives him the option of filing I-864EZ instead of I-864. It doesn't mean they SHOULD use the I-864EZ - they MAY fill out either form.

Wow. Congrats :)

When did ur case approved from NVC?

How many months between the approved case from NVC to interview approved??

Case was approved on 5/21 and took 17 days to get interview date.

130 for Wife

09-07-2010 - Priority Date

01-10-2012 - Upgrade from F2A to CR1

03-23-2012 - NOA-2 Email Received

04-23-2012 - NVC received

05-10-2012 - Case # received

05-11-2012 (Friday) - AOS and IV invoiced and Paid. Status "In Process"

05-14-2012 (Monday) - AOS and IV status showed "Paid"

05-14-2012 - AOS and IV packages mailed

05-15-2012 - Package Delivered.

05-21-2012 - Case Completed. (11 Days after Case # assigned)

06-07-2012 - Got Interview date assigned for July 18th @ 8AM

06-13-2012 - Medical Done

07-18-2012 - Interview Done - Approved

07-20-2012 - Visa Received

Oh GOSH!!

I just called and they said my case was completed this morning! \o (finally!!!)

Now they are sending my package to the embassy and gonna set up a day for my interview soon!

I couldnt be happier!

i understand that I864 must meet at/above the poverty guideline but does the form tell them if you have a shelter to live in, something I'm just curious about.

anyone can meet the poverty guidelines by working but not all can afford a shelter. does nvc check this or it doesn't matter?

They ask for just current income. I don't think they check it but that's a good question!

About the education thing again in DS-230.

Example:

College

Course: Nursing

Diploma: BSN ( is it ok to abbreviate it?

Btw Is means bachelor in Nursing) or all i have to place in the diploma: Bachelor only?

Post grad

Course: masters

Diploma: MAN (masters in Nursing)

Is it ok to abbreviate

Or place Masters.?

Put Bachellor's and Master's :)

We got our NAO2 approved on July 11 and wanted to know when we should start calling the NVC to get our case number?

My husband called today and they told him to wait 20 business days to call again.

And when our case number is ready, will the NVC have any other information that we should get from them or give them like our email address?

Yeah, you'll want to wait a little bit. My NOA2 was June 11 and still no case number, but case was received July 2nd. Some people have gone faster, but I would give it at least 2 weeks after NOA2 to start calling. :)

Thanks Saylin. Great news! They rec'd our AOS package Friday and our IV package today (tracked it online via USPS website). So I'll start calling on Friday and everyday after until I know both have been accepted. Then about one month after that to hear about the interview if we don't get any RFE's right?

:dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: My wife visa got approved today. She was in and out in 15 min total. She will get her visa in 1-2 weeks. Thanks everyone here to help me out though the process, specially Saylin. Hope to get visa by next week and POE on the following week.

This is the kind of good news I want to hear! :):):)

DOS and NVC should have the same information, but not always. I've seen cases where DOS would have the interview date and NVC didn't (for whatever reason). So I always suggest calling both. The phone number (as well as which number options to press so you can skip the long speech :P ) is on the first post.

Thanks Saylin! I'm used to just calling the NVC but maybe once I'm actually in the process I should call DOS too.

June 25th, 2012 - our 2-year wedding anniversary!

USCIS - I-130

24 FEB 2012 - NOA1

11 JUN 2012 - NOA2

NVC - MEP

2 JUL 2012 - Case Received at NVC

19 JUL 2012 - Case number, IIN and Beneficiary ID received, gave e-mail addresses!

23 JUL 2012 - Was able to log in and fill out the DS-261 and I made myself the agent! I also stated that I was assisting the beneficiary ( since I signed in as him )

24 JUL 2012 AOS fee available and paid through the payment portal - direct deposit

25 JUL 2012 AOS fee shown as paid!! I-864 package e-mailed to NVCelectronic@state.gov

01 AUG 2012 IV Bill Invoiced and paid

02 AUG 2012 IV Bill shown as paid and DS-260 completed and documents sent!

08 AUG 2012 RFE! :crying: sent passport photos wrong, so re-sent!

15 AUG 2012 case COMPLETE!!! Yay!!

13 SEP 2012 Received Interview Date! OCT. 5th!

20 SEP 2012 Scheduled ASC appointment by calling 7034392313. Two days earlier I logged into the website but it said there were no appointments available. But when I called, they scheduled an appointment for me. :)

No It's the same, who schedule that is NVC. She said they will do that yeh, not now, cos I dont have the day yet. But now I can finally relax... it's a the first time I enjoy waiting haha.
