OMG can I vent NVC filers!! What is wronf with NVC I mean do they even know what a petition is? I literally was told I filed for the wrong petition by not one but two reps (a a man Named Guy and a woman). You know how the I-130 for says Petition for Alien Relative. But when you get your I-1797C its says

Case Type: I-130 Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), Or Orphan.

Well anyway even after reading word for word to theses people they tell me I got the wrong office even though the petition says "The avove petition has been approved (Ya'll know thw drill). What is wrong with these people??

Than each one has a different "business day" number. Well the 19th is 15 business days since the approval. I have got 7, 9, 12, 11. OMG People are right every time you call you get a different answer. Ughhhh

Okay :ot2: . waitin I must.

call back to USCIS, get a Tier 2 Human, an ISO, and go over that NOA-2 letter, the approval notice.

Do that on Wednesday.

Messed up at USCIS means it's messed up at NVC - they only act on the things they received.

I need help settling a dispute....

I say that my husband (the beneficiary) should have sent in the DS-3032 the minute our application hit the NVC stage. He says that we have to wait until the AOS package is reviewed/accepted. Who is right?

Uncle Darnell say 'neither'.

Uncle Darnell say 'send in the DS-3032 via email when the AOS FEE BILL arrives in the Petitioner's email inbox'.

No AOS Fee Bill, you say? Train up the petitioner to call twice a day, and ask, "Please send my AOS FEE BILL to my email inbox" .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

i received my AOS bill this morning and paid it... i mean really? are they going to play snail mail with email in this age? and plenty of management practices that could have speed up the process.. now i have to wait for my IV invoice and so on...

you got AOS fee bill via postal mail?? WOW.

IF EMAIL, well, hey - yer in the age of 'ACH timeframe' between NVC and yer bank.

Adjust yer clock, accordingly.

This is the day, though - the trigger day - to send off the OPT IN EMAIL.

Go Get Em, Tiger !

Anyone know if the NVC accepts copies of the IRS transcripts? I ordered them to my parents house and they were supposed to give them to someone to bring to me in Brazil. They only ended up giving them my 1040 copies and not the transcripts.

Oh, guys, I'm getting scared now from all these stories! I thought this part was supposed to go a lot faster! It's been 5 weeks since NOA2 and still no case number! And now you're telling me that it's the same waiting time between each step? :crying: Tell me truly guys, how long is the NVC stage really supposed to be? If I know it's supposed to be longer, maybe I'll stop driving myslf crazy. Haha.

Every time I call they say the standard (like, seriously I have it memorized, heck I could probably do their job by now)

"It shows that we have received your case on July 2nd, but it hasn't been entered into our system yet. Please give us 10-20 business days to enter it into our system." :bonk:

Come on NVC, I know you're busy with the hundreds of cases that reach you guys every day, I know I'm abundantly blessed, especially to even have an NOA2. And I will eat my foot when everything is fine and done! But I feel the need to vent a little bit today!

Thanks for reading! I know you all understand. It's gonna be ok! But again, please tell me how long it's supposed to take. I think I'll go back to the June thread and read their updated timelines. :) Gotta love the timeline part of VJ! (F)(L)

Always glad to read this thread and hear the good things that are going on with y'all's cases! You know how they always say like baby dust can there be NVC dust?:rofl:rofl: NVC dust to all!

Currently it's taking around one month from NOA2 to case number assigned. It's then a few days from case number assigned to AOS being invoiced. It's about a week to get to your DS-3032 email, and another few days after that for the IV to be invoiced (once DS-3032 is accepted). It's also taking around one week to review packages.

Now, please keep in mind, these aren't set in stone time frames. They're just averages. And with averages comes cases that go faster and cases that go slower.

Just keep calling every day. You'll get your case number very soon yes.gif

i understand that I864 must meet at/above the poverty guideline but does the form tell them if you have a shelter to live in, something I'm just curious about.

anyone can meet the poverty guidelines by working but not all can afford a shelter. does nvc check this or it doesn't matter?

Proof of relationship isn't really needed in your case. Just bring it to the interview with you. Proof of relationship in the IV package is really only needed with those in MENA countries where interviews are much harder.

don't abbreviate things on the forms, unless it is a state. abbreviation can mean many things and you don't want the officer to be guessing.

They are actually not interested if it says "The above petition has been approved" but the next sentence. Make sure it says "We have sent it to Department of State National Visa Center" and NOT "The petition indicates that the person for whom you are petitioning is in United States and will apply for adjustment of status." If you have the second sentence then they messed up and think that the relative will do "Adjustment of status" and won't send it to NVC but will wait for I-485.

We got our NAO2 approved on July 11 and wanted to know when we should start calling the NVC to get our case number?

My husband called today and they told him to wait 20 business days to call again.

And when our case number is ready, will the NVC have any other information that we should get from them or give them like our email address?
