Got my AOS packet ready to be sent in the mail, but NVC has not even issued the bill yet. Is there anything I can do, or tell them something over the phone that would help expedite this?

I was hoping to have this packet on its way this week.

I have not been calling NVC since I provided them with beneficiary's email address. Maybe its time?

this pisses me off that they say it takes 20 business days to process a form. i am like #######?! with this snail mail they are doing, they can take 20 days per a form. that is just tip of an iceberg because it is really every step takes 20 days. and not 20 days for the whole aos and iv process..

i might report this to the inspector general.

good to be back with some good news:)

got our case completed last friday and my medical yesterday;) i'm just waiting for the interview schedule:)

i can't thank Saylin enough for all the assistance, you're the Guru, you're the best:) thank you so much..thanks thanks thanks!!!!

Grats on your case complete!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

can you schedule medical without interview date being assigned or official email from NVC stating that case has been completed?

what documents did you take with you for your medical examination?

There only a few select countries (the Philippines one of them) that allows for advance medicals (which can be done as early as getting to NVC). For those eligible, they bring the NVC letter that contains their case number on it (instead of the interview letter, like the rest of us).

Got my AOS packet ready to be sent in the mail, but NVC has not even issued the bill yet. Is there anything I can do, or tell them something over the phone that would help expedite this?

I was hoping to have this packet on its way this week.

Yes, I'd suggest calling them. Did you not give the petitioner's email address when your case number was assigned?

Well here I am on vacation and checking the invoice page to see if I can pay my IV fee. It says it's available to pay but no box to check and no name in applicant information area. The summary information page says I can pay it though. I'm confused. Any suggestions?

They already had the Petitioner's email address on file. All I had to do was provide the Beneficiary's.

Is it ok to call and ask for the AOS Invoice? I suspect they'll just give me the 'wait 20 business days' mantra.

Okay, just making sure!

And yes, just call and ask for the AOS bill to be invoiced (say Affidavit of Support, not AOS; don't confuse the operators more than they already are :P ). They'll probably give you some standard time frame, but it won't hurt to try!

Although neither bill is ready to be paid, I logged in to the invoice portal to check its status, only to find NVC spelt my surname incorrectly. Wonderful!

Call NVC up asap. You might have to email them a scan of your passport/birth certificate.

Yup, gave them a call and a very curt lady (probably the most... not aggressive, but not nice) said "well your green card will have that name on it, so get it fixed." Helpful. I'm going to scan a PDF of my passport bio page tomorrow, but I have no idea exactly what I'm meant to say. "Hey, you guys took weeks to get it done, and then you did it wrong?"

I just really hope it doesn't hold up the process any longer. It's not even like my surname is complicated or particularly unusual!

Operator Response: We just received your case. It normally takes 2-4 weeks to issue AOS Invoice, but it shouldn't take that long.

Nothing I didn't already know. C'mon NVC...speed it up!

I have two questions first:

1. On the DS-230 the 'course' for secondary (high school) what do you put. And the example on VJ seems wrong or off. I mean for degree or diploma they have the course taken. Weird or is it me.

second question.

2. Does anyone know when mail is delivered to NVC?

Okay its MONDAY people lets get some positive vibes going.

Is mail only delivered to NVC on Monday and no other day of the week?

Divine says completion for secondary school earns you a "PASS". Yep, that is what they call it! Alrigthy then...can't get much more simple than that! :bonk:

Yeah, that lady wasn't helpful at all. Call them up again and explain it again. Ask them what you need to do right now to fix the problem. In most cases I've seen with a name error, they have to send a copy of their passport/birth certificate.
