Per SAYLIN our Master From high school and so on, but my wife put elementary and up that's why we have an extra page for the education only.rofl.gif

========

hahahahah :) okay.

Thank u so much ^__^

It's starting from high school and up.

I'd suggest in your case, get your husband to print out a few blank copies of the DS-230, and sign just part 1. Then mail those to you right away. By the time you receive the forms, you should have the checklist from NVC. Make sure that question was the only thing wrong, then write in all the information again, making sure the question is correct.

Thank u :)

Thanks, Saylin! The instructions for the i-864 specifically say to provide proof of current income..and I don't have any paystubs, so the employment letter is my only shot. I'm just not sure if I want to risk getting the dreaded RFE... But it might be worth it to let my joint sponsor off. Decisions decisions /:

Just letting those who had NOA2 dates week of 6/24. Starting monday its on watch our petitions will be their my date is 6/29. the 19th is 15 business days. And I will get my case number same day too dang it. Who's with me? Winnie, Amenspaglish. Lets get this party started. :dancing: :dancing:

Also have a question if you didn't call NVC to get Case number and get your arrival date how do they notify you you have a case# via mail or what? Was just wondering I may leave them alone for a week since 15 business days is the 19th. But was wondering is all.

oh and such a fun party it is! :dancing: haha. I'd leave them alone for a bit otherwise you might go crazier than me! The operators tell me they will mail it, so I guess that's what they'll do. But I bet if you call in a week that will be good timing. Good luck!

Thanks for the kind words DWheels, Amenspanglish and Saylin. And congratulations StormHerald! How awesome! I hope you get your interview date soon.

He meant to type 1985 and he typed 1995, and neither of us caught it. I'm kicking myself. Such a simple mistake, but it will take a week for him to redo the form, sign it, and get it to the NVC from Australia. And my husband thinks he should wait until we get the actual RFE in case there's more than one problem, so I guess we will wait for that. I keep hoping the RFE email will show up, but so far, no luck.

Folks, please do not do what I did--be extra careful when checking your paperwork! Or you might regret it.

One weird thing, the operator (who was very talkative and trying to be helpful) kept telling me that his police check needed to be sent by the police to the consulate. I pointed out that, as per the instructions, I had sent his police check in with his IV package. She was adamant though. I hate to say it, but I think helpful operators may be as confusing as the unhelpful ones!

Bummer! And I've made those errors before! I will double and triple check! Thanks for the warning!

My husband always sends extra signed blank forms with this stuff...

Best of luck with everything!

Don't put elementary. You start with high school. For the degree, just put 'academic'. These are the instructions from the DS-260 (online version of DS-230).

When I read the I-864 instructions, I see the employment letter and pay stubs listed as optional, not required. But there are others that disagree and think they are required.

No case complete for us for our birthdays this week. We're getting an RFE for husband's DS-230 (question 30). And our AOS packet hasn't even been reviewed. The NVC operator was really helpful and informative, though, I have to say.

I am *so upset* today. Really thought we'd be done by Friday. :crying:

Hope everyone else has better luck!

Fingers crossed!

I hate to say it, but I think helpful operators may be as confusing as the unhelpful ones!

I made a similar mistake on my DS-230. I accidentally got two dates sort of mixed up. Instead of putting my wife's date-of-birth down as 6/13/1976 as it should have been, I had typed in (did it electronically) as 6/30/1976. We were married on 6/30/2011. I somehow got the numbers confused. It's these unrelenting forms. :bonk:

I filled the form out about almost two weeks before I actually mailed it in with my IV package. Luckily I managed to catch it as I read through the form before sealing the envelope. I took a pen and crossed over the date I had entered on the computer and wrote the correct date-of-birth on the form. The NVC must've been OK with that. since we got a case closed earlier this week. I'm glad I was lucky enough to catch it.

hi guys, I have a question. I finally got my AOS invoice today in email and I am composing the OPTIN email with 3032 attached.

My question is in the email body, after listing case#/petional info/beneficiary info, do I have to write more to make it like in this guide? (and I am the petitioner and sending this email)

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

Since for Guangzhou China the email is for OPTIN + 3032, so it makes me confused a bit. Thanks for any tips!!

Because you are attaching a DS-3032 to your OPTIN email, your OPTIN email does not need to look anything like that guide.

Contact the embassy either through phone or email, and just ask for an earlier date if possible. I've seen successful cases all the time here on VJ about getting an earlier date. Good luck!

Hi all,

Well I took the chance of maybe bumping up an earlier interview date for my wife in Colombia but FAILED! :(

The Embassy replied:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not have any earlier appointments available.

I e-mailed the request Thursday night like 7:30PM and the above e-mail reply appeared in my inbox hours later at 4AM (I thought that was kind of strange). Maybe I should have sent it on Monday during business hours, I feel like Friday the 13th cursed me! :o

You can try again in a few weeks and see if any earlier dates have opened up.
