NVC Filers - July 2012

Mann everybody has early/mid August interview dates. Our case at NVC completed on June 19 and on June 27 were notified my wife's interview date is August 28

I'm gonna e-mail the Bogotá Embassy if it's possible for an earlier date since a couple of weeks have passed by now.

Any advice?

Hi honey, don't forget your long form birth certificate as well...and if it has been longer than six months for your passport photo's you may want to take new one's and send him four to six new ones on white background. 2 x 2 inches.

Got Case #, IIN and Beneficiary ID moments ago!

The operator hesitated in giving me the IIN initially, but insisted on giving me the Beneficiary ID.

I thought Beneficiary ID didn't apply to me?

Contact the embassy either through phone or email, and just ask for an earlier date if possible. I've seen successful cases all the time here on VJ about getting an earlier date. Good luck!

Weird. No, you're right, the beneficiary ID does you absolutely nothing in your case. For Pakistan, you just need a case number and IIN. Silly operator

Thank you! My AOS showed paid this morning so we are running on full blast now! Sending packet today and waiting on next payment to post so I can process and send! Praying for you and us all!

For pay stubs, if yours show a YTD (year-to-date) amount on them, then you only need the most recent one. If they don't have the YTD amount, then you really only need to include a few, like 3-6. No need to include the entire 2012 year worth of pay stubs.

Has your AOS invoice shown as PAID yet on the payment portal? I don't suggest sending the AOS package until then. If it gets to NVC before it's appearing as PAID in their system, it may cause delays.

I got a Beneficiary ID number on my paperwork as well. I was thinking...hummm...wonder why I have that. I haven't read anything about having, or needing one of these for Nigeria. Is this just something new they are doing maybe???

The beneficiary ID is for online forms, but only a few select countries are eligible for this (link is in first post). Nigeria is NOT one of those countries. Despite this, the number is sent to everyone, whether eligible or not.

No case complete for us for our birthdays this week. We're getting an RFE for husband's DS-230 (question 30). And our AOS packet hasn't even been reviewed. The NVC operator was really helpful and informative, though, I have to say.

I am *so upset* today. Really thought we'd be done by Friday.

Hey y'all...

I have been planning to have a joint sponsor, but now I'm thinking about going just me because I definitely make enough money. I only hesitated to because I don't have a W2 for my current job. I asked an NVC operator today if an employment letter is enough to prove my current income (even without a company letterhead since I work as a nanny). They said it was ok. Should I believe them? Has anyone had a negative experience with this? Thank you!
