Wow, congratulations, Mr. Borkstrom! How exciting!

And congrats to everyone else who got case numbers, case completes, and other fabulous news. It makes me feel good to see that things are moving along for people. Gives me hope!

long time no see! nice to see ya back here  Congrats on your case competition at NVC stage :)

Thanks. :)

I haven't really had much to post in this thread since I mailed my IV package on June 16

It feels weird. My wife mailed in our I-130 in November last year. So much time has passed since then. Looking back I am not sure exactly how I got through the waiting (not that our quest for the Holy Visa™ is over yet, but you know what I mean). My wife flew home to the States on July 2nd a year ago after we got married on June 30. Now it turns out our visa application was OK'd by the NVC on July 2nd this year. I am not religious and do not believe in one or more higher powers or any other cosmic stuff, but I can't help thinking the timing of this is kinda funny.

If I can move in August I'll be more than happy. I'm afraid it's still going to be stinking hot in Pittsburgh at that time though - I've told my wife I may wait and move over in November instead. ;)

Mr bjorkstrom - congrats on case complete.

Thanks. B-)

But it's not Björkström, it's BORKström. You know, like the Swedish chef. Bork bork bork. It's an inside joke from the message board where I met my wife. Well we originally "met" on the message board of the official website of the Pittsburgh Penguins, but later "hooked up" on a different board where some of the people from the Pens board had moved on to. As you may or may not know, it is not uncommon for Swedes to have last names that end with -ström (which is Swedish for stream). Detroit has Tomas Holmström for example. Put that together with the Borking Swedish chef and you get Borkström.

ADD: Oh and congratulations by the way.

ADD 2: Thanks Abby and Vilya. :)

I called NVC a few minutes ago and they finally received our case from USCIS. According to the operator, she said it would take up to 2-4 weeks to create the case number, but she also said I could call back next week and hear whether the case number is created by then or not.

The good news is that we've had time to assemble some of the necessary documents, so once the case number comes it shouldn't take that long to send everything. Being able to pay online will help matters a lot too, as both of us live abroad.

How long has it been taking for other people to get their case number after NVC receives their NOA2?

Finally was able to pay my AOS fee. Jeeez. Hopeful that I'll be able to email my aos today or tomorrow. I was hoping to get my IV package off this week too, since I'm on vacation all next week. The place I'm going is an island in the upper peninsula of Michigan and communication with the outside world is limited at best. I guess another delay shouldn't surprise me at this point. This process is grueling. :crying:

NOA2 to Case Number 2-3wks per my experience

Took me exactly 15 "WORKING" days from NOA2. I've only called the NVC four times prior to getting the number. In the AM of the 15th day, I was told "we just recieved the case today, please call back in 10 to 20 days for case number". Well, that wasn't what I really wanted to hear...so later that evening (8pm'ish Central Time, I called again, gave them my NOA2 receipt number and she started asking me different questions: Petitioner name and Date of Birth, same for Beneficiary, Application (Visa) type applied for. My email address, his email address and when she got to my telephone number...it was wrong "IN THE SYSTEM".

Wait, did she say "IN THE SYSTEM"...I was about to jump out of my chair, then she gave me the case number and said they were still working on entering so there was no Invoice just yet but to go ahead tomorrow morning and send in the DS-3032. They will contact me by email!
