Hi guys, just got my NVC# and was told to call back tomorrow to register emails. (says the case # was just assigned an hour ago). Could you guys tell me after I receive my AOS invoice, to where should I send the OPTIN email with DS3032 attached? NVCElectronic@state.gov or NVCINQUIRY@state.gov? I know regular 3032 send to the NVCINQUIRY but since I am doing OPTIN and 3032 in the same email, which email do I send to?? thanks!!

Congratulations! I know China is a little different than other countries because of the links on this thread. Have you checked them out? My best guess is NVCElectronic. Let's see what the experts have to say!

Hello guys,

I am very sorry for being absent for 2 days. My Birthday was yesterday and i got the best birthday present - my wife flew into town from Maryland. So I was at the airport to pick her on the 4th and we had loads of catching up to do.

while i was absent, i got an email from NVC, addressed to my lawyer, my wife and myself (email). In the letter was a requirement to pay the IV and AOS bills . 88 and 230dollars. I thought thAT one was meant to come after the other one?

I will like to ask the experienced VJ members if in a sitaution where we already have a lawyer, do we ask him to pay the bills on our behalf or we have to do it ourselves. We plan calling him today, but wanted to find out before calling him.

Second question is what forms are we required to fill out, since we will be using the services of a lawyer. I know that we dont need to send out the DS 3032

The process might get a bit slow here, since my wife is here on holiday with me. We will pay the relevant bills while she is here, but i guess the AOS package will be sent out when she gets back home. For my IV package, i am still expecting the police report from Nigeria. I hope it arrives soon, every other document, including my UK police report are ready.

I have a question guys. I had my interview on 2nd July on IR1 category and visa is approved. When I check my visa stamp in passport it says CR1 category. I'm confused now. Can somebody explain what are consequences of that.

It means "conditional resident" visa as you were married for less than two years. IR is immediate relative and couldve only been granted had you been married for at least 2 years. The difference will be that the green card of your spouse will only be valid for 2 years instead of 10 years. After the 2nd anniversary, can apply for a "Removal of Conditions" that would convert this.

At the time of visa interview we're married for 2 and 1/2 years. That's why NVC assigned IR1 category. But visa issued with CR1 category.

They decide IR1 or CR1 based on the date when you filed your petition I-130 at USCIS.
