:D

So...

pretty random, but... Should I disclose to the POE officer that I am coming up for my husband's immigration interview? I know that the answer is probably yes, but I just want to make sure i'm not making some fatal mistake in letting them know that. :)

Thanks all!

Happy 4th to all of the new residents and USCs!!!

Happy 4th to you also! Do you mean should you disclose to the "CO" that you are going to be present during your husband's interview...through a letter? If so, I have this same question because this would be my third trip back to him and I want them to know I am with my husband and I'm serious about bringing him back home to live with me!!! :D Good question!

No Dana she is asking about the POE (Point of entry) officer. I would gather CANtoUSlove u want to come on over from US to Canada for interview. Well there's nothing wrong with stating the purpose of your visit. I am sure they have heard it millions of times.

Dana as for letting the CO in Nigeria know you are there that's easy. Here's what I have learned by many here. Our husbands will take our passports with them inside. When asked for all their papers and their passport they will hand over both passport. Wahla CO knows we are there.Of course handing back our passport but now they know.

Unless they specifically ask WHY you're visiting your husband, you don't need to say anything. Usually are officers are fine with the simple "I'm visiting my spouse" line. No need to elaborate unless asked. The shorter the better with these people.

Takes 1 to 2 weeks to get a case number once it has reached at NVC office.

Both case number and IIN will be generated at the same time. Both numbers are needed to login to their payment portal website.
