Don't get me wrong. I hate the idea of raising taxes on those of us already shouldering the vast majority of the burden, but even if we can get the spenders under control I can see there probably needs to be some more income, and this may be a way to appease the money hungry left. Besides, I have a hard time feeling bad asking ball players and entertainers and CEOs that are making 10 or 20 or more million dollars a year to pay a few percent more.

Just saw that the government is borrowing 3.6 Billion per day....holy $hit. Does anyone have any plan for paying this money back???

Don't get me wrong. I do feel bad when anyone has to pay more than there fair share. I don't feel like they should be penalized for being successful. Why not just have a flat tax. Everyone above a certain threshold pays the same % ?

If you had ever had a job you would know that income taxes are taken directly from your wages.

If we get refunds on our checks it is because we have paid too much and the IRS has kept our money, we have been out of pocket on these taxes. If you owe money on your taxes, you haven't been out of pocket. So if you owe taxes you've been in a better situation than those that are owed refunds.

No I am talking about net income tax liability. The net of what you pay. 47% after all is said and done have paid a net income tax of Zero. I am not talking about if you owe at the end of the year or you are due a refund. Many people that are due a refund still have a positive Tax liability.

Many Many others get back way more in their refund than they paid in. do you understand the accounting term Net ???

There is a reason why this has happened. The income of the lower income brackets in the US has stagnated or gone down. If you want them to pay more taxes, help them earn larger incomes.

The other large reason is that for many families, the child deductions and credits basically wipe out what little tax bill they have left.

As long as the income gap keeps growing, the wealthy are going to pay an ever larger share of all the taxes.

and I explained I meant income taxes. Payroll taxes actually hit lower income families less because they pay at a much lower rate and many get the EIC, which means they get back more than they paid in.
