Divorce process and timeframe in Texas

I was informed that an ad litem may need to be assigned to my case if the other parent is unable to be served after attempts via mail and person prove unsucsessful.

If that is the case, do they have a set amount of time in which to attempt to find the other parent (doesn't live in U.S.)? I ask because the 60 day timeframe from when it was first filed is coming up and I want to make sure this moves as quickly and smotthly as possible so I can continue my life the wonderful way it has gone

Oh, and how much does it cost to have an ad litem added to the case by the court?

I live in Texas if this helps any.

Thank you for all your help
