She would just transfer over the proceeding as and when.

Ok, I am being thick here, but how and when would the money be transferred? I believe the pensions are still being paid into the bank account in the UK. I'm actually trying to work out, how it would work if we brought my Mum to live with us, the money would help with any health and medical expenses for her. Would I put that on any paperwork we would file for her, like the financial support etc?

I use xe.com, NatWest allows you to transfer money on line internationally now, you used to have to call them.

You are her Financial Sponsor as far as the US Gov is concerned.

Have you looked into Health costs?

For most people that is the killer.

I get my UK state pension sent straight to my Chase bank account in the US.

The exchange rate is usually the normal bank exchange rate, and it costs nothing to transfer.

Old and Grumpy....But an American Citizen!!!
