So are we paying for the visa twice?

Well I'd say I'm pretty well known for my crazy questions by now...so here's the latest.

WE pay fees to submit the visa application DS-230 (humor me here...for spouses). Then I'm seeing on the Nigerian Consulate site where my husband has to pay $230-$240 dollars again when he arrives for the interview.

Does this mean we are paying for this same petition twice? Yes, I'm confused! :bonk:

The petition has a filing fee. The interview has a fee.

u pay nothing everything is paid for CR1/IR1 at NVC. It's the K1 folk that have to pay Visa fee at Consulate. Thats what the good old IV bill is all about. Right??

Why do I always have more questions than answers? And no worries...yours is coming, I'm praying for all my friends to be there so we can all interview and have a huge party before we leave 9ja! LOL

all questions like these you need to be asking on that thread. My answer would be whatever address is in the instructions. I gather you are looking at the "how to get your spouse" instructions now that is old and has not been updated in a while. The USCIS is always up to date. But ask the forum.

Hey sweets: I just got the right info by sending an email to the NVCInquiry@state.gov. I fowarded a request for my case number and invoice number. They replied back with an autoresponder that has these addresses on it at the bottom:

Mail: Written questions about a case should be sent to :

NATIONAL VISA CENTER

Attn: WC

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 200

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2915

FORMS, DOCUMENTS and PHOTOGRAPHS should be sent to:

NATIONAL VISA CENTER

ATTN: CMR

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

I'm going to call every day and email everyday til I get that number! Now if I can just get someone to help my husband get motivated and sign the freaking papers already! GOSH...how long can it take to sign a document? He got his Police Certificate day before yesterday and yet he is still hee hawing around on this!

Where can I verify there are two seperate filing fees for the IR-1/CR-1 at the NVC stage and at the interview stage?

Okay you are making it too hard. We are spousal Visa that is what the IV Bill is the Visa fee. There is no money they pay at embassy. K1's pay their Visa fee at embassy cuz they don't have to sit and wait at MVC.

You paid the Petition fee that was the $420. All that is left is AOS $88 and IV bill $230. K
