I admire John Adams, our first vice president and second president, for his opposition to the stamp act, his instrumental contributions to the declaration of independance, and his suggestion of the title "His Most Benign Highness", to the office we now know as "President of the United States",

Aneurin Bevan left school at age 13 and was unemployed when the coal mine owners all ganged up on him.

He became Minister of Health after the war

He took on the medical profession and famously "stuffed their mouths with gold" to get them to accept socialized medicine

Then later he took it all back and made those doctors who profited from the misfortune of others, actually work for a reasonable rate of pay

A true hero and revered by the Brits, all of whom support socialized medicine - including the right wing conservative prime minister in power right now
