thanks alot harsh_77

she went to someone who fills out the DS160 for a nominal fee plus you have to buy the appointment date(suprised me i thought it was free).

the person told her that she doesn't need an invitation letter but advised her that the last 3 individuals that applied that were in similiar situation got denied.

so we will focus on gettin the visa first.

thanks for the feedback guys/girls.

Just for future reference, you don't need anyone's help in filling DS160 nor you are required to pay anyone.

You can fill your own DS160 its very simple just all the basic information about person who is visiting and some information about trip and where and whom they will stay with during the visit etc.

If you have computer and net connection in both countries, you can help her fill out the form too.

Just so this does not get further derailed. A person with a pending I-130 can visit the US. Furthermore, a person with a pending I-130 can qualify for a tourist visa. Even someone in this thread, Operator, was approved for a tourist visa while I-130 is pending. Of course, obtaining the tourist visa is more difficult being the immediate relative of a US Citizen, but it is not impossible. If the tourist visa is denied, it will have zero impact on the issuance of a CR-1 visa. The OP wants to try for it.

Just as a point of clarification, it was an i-129f that was pending.

The fact of the matter is, they can and have been issued and a denial has no impact on the IV application just as Harpa Timsah said.

If she doesn't apply she will definitely not get a tourist visa.

You are right without applying you will not know what the outcome is, I believe OP's original question was should he mention the relation in invitation letter.

Yes thanks for the feedback everyone.

I wanted to know if we should disclose our relationship. I realize now that yes we must do it

I am reading some ppl are saying its bad idea to apply for tourist visa while CR1 pending I wonder why that is? Because we certainly dont want to hurt our CR1 application

I'm sorry, this is rubbish. Your wife doesn't know about her own life? They ask questions about her. Who knows her better, herself of a stranger fleecing her for $50? Don't give me "everyone does it." The questions are like, "name," 'work," "place of birth." Please.

well guess what she went there and the girl that fills out the form told her she might as well throw the money in the drain bcoz ppl in similiar situations are getting rejected at consulate. they are being told you have a few more months on your I130 so JUST WAIT. :(

so my wife asked me what to do and she really wants to try so i dont want to break her spirit so I told her file it. so guess what she paid 5 dollars at internet cafe and filled the form herself :D

her interview date is July 16th

hope she gets the visa
