thanks alot harsh_77

she went to someone who fills out the DS160 for a nominal fee plus you have to buy the appointment date(suprised me i thought it was free).

the person told her that she doesn't need an invitation letter but advised her that the last 3 individuals that applied that were in similiar situation got denied.

so we will focus on gettin the visa first.

thanks for the feedback guys/girls.

BEWARE of these "individuals!" There are people that "help" you get a visa, but what they really do is LIE on the forms and get your wife a lifetime ban to the US. A Tourist visa application is NOT hard. She should do it on her own.

Here is the webpage for the US Embassy in Guyana. http://georgetown.usembassy.gov/non-immigrant-visas.html

OMG you scare me man. I can fill the form but she told me in guyana they have set procedure you have to pay these ppl US$50 to fill it. But she is smart I will tell her to look it over in detail. And i will look at this website as well. thanks. I hope she gets the visa bcoz if she doesnt she will be crushed.

Is it true if she visits on tourist visa when times come to interview for the CR1 visa there will be an issue? Or does it make it easier since they seen you visited and went back home? or it just don't matter?

I went to the website and read it and I cannot believe how easy it has become to apply for tourist visa. they dont even want a job letter.

We no longer accept any documents, other than the application forms and photograph, from persons applying for B2 visas for routine tourist travel to the United States. Applicants for tourist visas are no longer required to present employment letters, bank statements, transports, or letters of support from friends and family.

We are restricting the acceptance of documents in support of tourist visa applications due to concerns about document validity and fraud in the visa process. Visa adjudications for most visa applications will be made based solely on the interview with the applicant.

they just issue the visa based on how well you interview its kinda crazy

It's not "how" you interview. It's how credible you are, overall. They are saying a bunch of papers don't help. You paid someone $50 to do this?

my wife will pay someone to this on saturday when she is off from work. see in guyana most ppl are not very familiar with immigration forms, they feel they need someone qualified to fill it out. no one even tries to fill it out themselves. 50 bucks is the current going rate. Most of these ppl filling the forms are just regular folks with a computer its abit scary. I will tell my wife to fill it herself but I dont know if she is afraid she will make a mistake.

I'm sorry, this is rubbish. Your wife doesn't know about her own life? They ask questions about her. Who knows her better, herself of a stranger fleecing her for $50? Don't give me "everyone does it." The questions are like, "name," 'work," "place of birth." Please.

ok I will tell her.

now this DS160 form can ONLY be filled online? Seems you do it online and then they give you barcode.....

there is no printed copy you can fill and take to the embassy?

I filed the I130 a few months back for my wife.

She has a few weeks break coming up soon at her job so she wanted to apply for a B2 visa to come to USA.

I told her the chances are slim on getting through but she wants to try so I figure nothing wrong with giving it a shot. Anyways she needs an invitation letter so I wanted to know when i write it do i specifically mention she is my wife? Is it required? Also at POE how does that work? you have to volunteer this info or only answer when asked? We defintely don't want to do anything illegal or that will hurt our CR1 application since that is extremely important.

thanks for your valuable input.

First she has to get the B2: I hate to sya this, but what makes you think they will grant her one given the circumstances: more often then not, people are denied B2s if they have a spouse in the USA. My fiancee was denied one, for example.

Its worth a try. Just a fews days ago, I read here a women(pending(CR1/IR1) from the Philippines applied last year and got denied. Discussed it with her husband and tried again just recently and got approved.

Good luck in getting the visitor's visa.

I am applying for a K1 fiancee visa, I recently went 2 weeks ago to the German Embassy to obtain a B2 visa and was denied purely based on the fact that I had a pending K1 application. I was advised by the Case Officer against visiting and told I should wait until the process is completed :-(

Other than your own experience from where is you position coming from?

If B2 applications are denied "more often than not" for people who have pending immigrant visa applications that could be an approval rate of 49.9%. Why wouldn't you try for one? Not many things in life have that kind of success rate.

My fiance (now wife) was granted a tourist visa while our petition was pending, for example.

Was there a reason that you didn't qualify for entry under the VWP? Perhaps that could have had something to do with your denial as well?

If I were you, I would not try this.

In my case, my wife already had a B2 visa stamped for multiple entry for 10 years before we got married. She still has about 8 years validity left on the visa. But after I filed for CR1, I've asked her not to travel to the US for the very same reason - possible denial at the port of entry.

Just so this does not get further derailed. A person with a pending I-130 can visit the US. Furthermore, a person with a pending I-130 can qualify for a tourist visa. Even someone in this thread, Operator, was approved for a tourist visa while I-130 is pending. Of course, obtaining the tourist visa is more difficult being the immediate relative of a US Citizen, but it is not impossible. If the tourist visa is denied, it will have zero impact on the issuance of a CR-1 visa. The OP wants to try for it.
