Much less than 50% of Americans are ignorant isolationist buffoons with no knowledge of world history and no interest in it

That's what makes it possible for me to be here

99% of americans don't care what you think.

editted again to stay out of the low class bar room.

Britain had votes for women before the USA - Google it and weep

I think I mentioned before that the women's right issue isn't actually true. Sure "some" woman were given the right to vote, but the US did beat the UK in allowing all women to vote. (The first UK law set the age limit higher for women then men - 30 I think)

You can say it as many times as you want. He won't remember, for obvious reasons.

Far from a "love it or leave it" arguement. It's more of a "if you liked it better where you came from, and insist that the US is lagging behind, then please go back there rather than insisting we change to suit your needs".

You know what I find amusing. So many people from so many different countries come to the US to find a better life for themselves and their families, more than any other country on earth. Once they get here and achieve their goal, their next step is to try and change the US into the country they left in the first place. Well screw that!

Or some of us go and live in our spouses country and decide certain things are better. It goes both ways.

That's the Alfred Molina argument! The US is far friendlier than the isolationist parochialism that imbues all of Europe. I like America, and I will not stand idly by while people denigrate it without proferring any form of constructive feedback. Chevy or British Leyland....seriously.

Descendents or followers Nevile Charberlain, no doubt...

You don't know anything about him either - you are an urban-myth monger

You don't even know that the British Armed Forces reviled Churchill and voted him out in a landslide election at the end of the war

They did that because they wanted homes and socialized health care and they got both

I know that because when my dad got back from the jungles of Burma in 1946, he was one of them

Just how many Americans know that - VERY few - but the rightos are always peddling Chamberlain and Churchill as Black hat /White hat - keeping it simple for the easily-led American public

New England is Bristolian? I'll have to think on that one.

I'm from Connecticut and I've lived in Bristol. My first month there I had no clue what the old Brizzle types were saying to me, and I found it disconcerting that everyone called me "me lover."

I don't sound like a Bristolian. I do sound a little like a female version of Thurston Howell III if he spent several months a year in the Valley.

The british armed forces have their own elections?

Or would you be confusing the armed forces with the larger electorate?

Churchill was an a-hole, but you knew that.
