So I got my RFE letter today.

RFE -

Marriage Certificate: Submit a legible copy of the marriage certificate. The Certificate must indicate that after the marriage ceremony, it was registered or recorded by the country, state, or province.

-The marriage certificate submitted does not show evidence of being civilly registered with the country clerk. The document must show the page and book numbers in which the event was recorded.

Thank God, that's all they're asking for. :)

So does this mean I need to send them the Marriage Licence (Certified A True Photostatic Print of a Record)? because I do have that with me. I dont want to end up sending in wrong thing.

I am not sure what country you are from but in Canada, the licence is different from the certificate.

Good luck

ETA: What did you send in the first place?

Q: Did you send one at all in the first package?

Is this the same one you sent before? or NOT?

A copy of one, should be fine for now, and if you can get certified copies of wherever they are sent, like to a national center, get the best one you can asap, and get min of 2, I'd get 3 copies of each document; You'll need to mail an original and a copy of it to NVC at a later date.

So if you forgot to send anything at all at first, a copy of what you have now should suffice. Let us know what you find out; follow the RFE instructions perfectly. Good luck.

a marriage license is totally different that the registered marriage certificate. the marriage license is what you need to present in order to get married. They are looking for the registered marriage certificate NOT a marriage license!!!!

We got married in Canada.

I sent the Marriage cert. I do have three copies that we ordered online but says Marriage Licence on it. Top of it has Ontario Office of the Registrar General. Certified A True Photostatic on file at the office of the registrar General. Has the registeration number, cert number, date issued, file number. The below has a box with the Marriage Licence info we told them before getting married. This considered what their asking me to send them?

If you were married in Ontario you should have a brown marriage certificate with Ontario's seal at the bottom and "Certificate of Marriage" at the top right.

If you do not, then you do not have what they are looking for. You may have the offical marriage registration of the provice

Good luck

PS - Google "Ontario Marriage Certificate" and look at the images to see what exactly you need.

Exactly correct. The unfortunate part of this whole thing is that if you only have 30 days to respond, you may not be able to obtain this certificate that fast in Ontario. Get in big rush if you don't already have it.
