Wife had her biometrics taken 6 months ago

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I have been patiently waiting for her interview to receive her green card. She has been in the US since June of 2011 on a K1 Visa and we have been married since August 2011. On 12/15/2011 she took her biometrics test and our case has been under initial review since then. Is this normal or should we contact someone to resolve this? My wife may be pregnant and if possible we would like to begin applying for a Visa for her mom to visit during the late stages of her pregnancy and take care of her shortly after since I will be working.

You don't give an applied dated or transfer date. There are cases that have been waiting a long time, but after 180 days you should have started contacting someone. AOS is done locally unless you were transfered to CSC. Many of us transfered to the CSC are waiting much longer than those that stayed local. I'd call USCIS and see what is up (are you at the CSC or the local), plus put in a service request. You had the biometrics taken, but what forms did you fill out and apply for? Filling out your timeline will also help people to help you.

Look at other time lines of similar nature, ours was long 10 months the no big deal. Other friend 7 months.

when you call into USCIS and ask for status, what are you told ? can tell us, here?
