Hi mermaid. I was born in New Jersey and went to Canada young. Lived mostly in Toronto for 38 years. I decided to come back to the States last year. I married my Canadian guy about 2 months ago. I'm hoping his K3 goes smoothly and he joins me in Jersey this Fall.

Now here's the thing. You have to be ready for the culture here. They call themselves competitive but I say it's pushy. Prepare for parking lot predators. Those are people who wait for you to leave so they can have your spot. They can be like schools of sharks circling your car. Next, you have to know about Taylor Pork Roll, an indescribable breakfast meat invented here. I've never seen it anywhere else.

For vacations (not holidays), everybody goes "down da shore." Summer has strict dates. It starts Memorial Day (last week-end of May) and the beaches are empty after Labor Day. It's nuts, because the weather is beautiful in September.

There are lots of other interesting things about Jersey, all of which are accurately documented in The Sopranos. But if you need comic relief, try weirdnj.com.

March 2010: Officially separated after yet more affairs exposed just a day after my birthday!

February 2011: Officially divorced.
June 18, 2011: He married the girl he had the last affair with.

August 2014: I am engaged with my real soulmate. Not an American.
