I'm applying for citizenship based on 5 years,

in the form N-400 Part-8, q E. Spouse's immigration status, my wife has b1/b2 visa still valid but she primarlily lives abroad & she is not in the USA right now, she just came here for 2 times few months

What should I write in this section about her status, Do I have to enter something since she is not present here?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks

I think you should write: Lives Abroad.

Yes. B1/B2 what is what wrote in her visa which is still valid, but she is not here & no plans to come here at least up to the next year.

So, now she is not on any status. Is that mean I still have to enter that.

Because when she comes at the airport they assign her b1 or b2 I think, this would be her status then. right?

Thanks for ur inputs

Actually it will depend on what country your wife is from. For instance the B1/B2 for people in Iran is only valid for 3 months, The Republic of the Congo is good for 6 months, 5 years for Australia and 10 years for Japan for instance.

Check http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_3272.html to verify if she still has any status since her last visit and then if she still does, then you can list her as B1/B2 or which ever one she is on if it's not a combination of the two. If the status is no longer valid, you would not enter a status and just state why...

Thank you Warlord & john_and_marlene,

Her visa B1/B2 still valid untill 3 more years from now, so I entered it as B1/B2 & I'll let them know in the interview that this is her status but she doesn't live here.

Good luck everyone,

No no no. She does not have any status in the U.S. because she is not in the U.S. She has a B1/B2 visa, but if she doesn't use that visa she has no status in the U.S. You should have put None--Not in U.S.
