What's going on at VSC??? I'm so tired of waiting and not hearing anything from them. Sadly, today I complete 5 months into the K1 process and not getting an email from them is driving me insane! I know I am not the only one here going through this but I just need words of comfort. The distance is causing my fiance and I a few problems and sadly we've been arguing a lot lately. Why? I don't even know. When can I start calling the VSC to ask for a service request? This whole situation is really getting on my nerves.

Youre not late, your just average. After being 10 months later, then I'd call. If you call now, they'll just tell you to wait 60 days.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

you most probably fight because you talk too much about this process and complain about how long it takes , am I correct? Happened to us too and we just simply stopped talking about it, otherwise we would break up long time ago... I am using this site and other people to rant about it with and keeping all the frustration away from my relationship as it would kill it!

As for VSC, well they are busy with some other petitions (unfortunately each adjudicator processes other types of petitions too). What can you do? Once you pass the 5 months mark by a few days, contact your congress person and they will be able to check your real case status :) Ringing USCIS won't help as they will give you the same answer they gave all of us "we are processing January 9, you are within processing time"... you can try but the answer will be frustrating ... other than that, not much can be done and most of us will be approved in July hopefully!

I dont know how accurate the VJ timeline is but it is predicting you should hear some time between tomorrow and July 7... As for fighting it happens to all of us. My husband and I were about to quit the whole process but we took a deep breath I talked to some others on here that were going thru the same thing and we are still together (long distance that is) and still cant wait for him to get here... Hang in there it is a long process but it is worth it in the end... Just come here and read it will help you know your not alone....

I called 2 weeks ago and was told that they were workign on Jan 1st, I called again this morning, I was told that they are working on January 9th NOA1 which is 4 days after me. Service request was granted because my application exceed the posted times.

yes to be able to do a service request your petition must be beyond what they have in their computers even though we know they are processing petitions beyond January 9... Service request however takes another 15? 30? 60? days and you might be well approved by then anyway...

Five months is AVERAGE, yours is not taking longer than anyone elses. You should have known how long this process was, and I do know it's frustrating, but you still have at least a couple months more to go.

At 6 months I'd have started calling, but it sounds like you got through to someone.

I know how fustrating it is, I have a NOA1 date of 12/5/11 and still have not gotten my NOA2. I have called the service center and was emailed back to wait an additional 60 days and I just recently contacted my congressman to which I still have not gotten a reply back yet. My fiance is becoming concerned and agitated and I am quickly losing patience. But in the end, what can you do? Complain? They all go into a box that fills up with the rest of the complaints about government service.

I knew from the begining that this would be a long journey. I had a friend here who's journey was a relatively short one but he filed almost a year before I did. Things change and although that feeling in my chest of anxiety from being away from my fiance is growing more intense by the day, I take comfort in the fact that one day she will be with me and things will get back to normal.

All good things come to those who wait, and for me, my fiance is definately worth waiting for.

Good luck to all of you in your journey.

I know how you feel, I actually was happy when I got a RFE after 5 Months and 10 days and 4 minutes. This way I know they are working on it. When my fiancé was asking me every night on the phone about the Embassy not calling her, I gave her my password to visa journey, now she looks at our timeline and does not ask anymore. This way I am removed from the proses a little bit, and she does not ask me much about it anymore. Now she just asks me every night when I will come to visit her again. It is hard to win with women. LOL

You are still within normal processing times, don't fret!

The fact that someone is still within the processing time, doesn't make this person feel any better, seeing other people who filed way after them being approved!
