Successful Interview

Hello fellow members,I just want to share my interview experience with you.I got to the accra embassy around 7:20 for my 7:30 appointment.A lady took my appointment letter and underlineed my interview date, time and asked me to go through security. After security checks,I went inside the building where a lady took the first page of my packet 4 and showed me a place to sit.After 30mins I was called to window 1.

OFFICER: lady asked for my documents.

RASMAN:I gave her the new birth certificate(green one),medical report,and new police report.

OFFICER: checked through my documents and asked what what evidence do I have to prove our marriage.

RASMAN: I told her they have my marriage certificate.

officer: What other documents do I have apart from that.She mentioned (Pictures,phone records and others.)To tell you the truth I did not have them and got scared.I told her the security took my pictures from me.she asked that I go for it and I told her that its on pendrive and cds.she said they do take only hardcopy.

RASMAN :Eventhough I have read a lot from fellow members I almost made a mistake that could have cost me.I left our family album during my last trip to the USA.I therefore took a copy of our wedding clip on cd,pictures on cd,and more pictures on pendrive.At the security they prevented me from taking it into the embassy.

OFFICER:Please sit and wait.

Rasman:Thank you.while sitting I started to think of a nice way of answering the question about the other evidence.I was called after 20 mins to window 2 and finger print taken.after which I sat down for about 30 mins and called to window 4 fot the interview.

CO: Asked lots of question about my wife,what she does,where she lives,how we met,where we met,how long have we known each other,when we got married ,my wifes birthdate,weather she has being to the USA before and dates,where was I at the time ,my previous visits to the usa,dates and places where I stayed.

RASMAN:I answered all these questions with date to her surprise.

CO:how come you know all the adresses of your wifes residence and dates

RASMAN: I told her I was there myself and know all the details.

CO:Asked what othe evidence do I have to prove my relationship?

RASMAN:I told her of my certificate,showed her my ring she wanted more so I told her I have electronic pictures so I can print some few copies.she did some things on the pc and asked that I swear which I did.She gave me bout an hour to return with the pictures.I rushed out picked a taxi went to printed 17 copies of pictures of myself and wife(old,new,my us visit,weddind,etc).when I came back Sat for an hour because she was interviewing someone else.After that I went to her gave her the pictures.

CO:how many people where at the wedding

Rasman: Many

CO: How come I am not seeing a lot of people

Rasman: Cos I had just a short time to return so had to print few copies for between us.

CO:Why didn't your wife add you earlier on since you where married at the time her visa was issued

Rasman:when she started the process we were not married and I was not in the country.at the time she was issued the visa though we were married we did not know that I could have being added.Got to know only after the time had elasped.Moreove since I hade a multiple visa we thought I could have adjusted my status but we later found out that was not possible so we had to go through this legal process.

CO:She brought my documents and said we needed a co sponser already prepared a letter asking me to come back on a different day

rasman:I gave her the latest I 864 tax documents.she looked confused.

CO: looked at it them and now said what I gave her is not with the original signature

Rasman :Yes it was signed,scanned and sent to me.

CO:kept looking at the poverty treshhold and the documents and was suprised how my wife has marginally beaten the treshold compering to 2009 when we filed.

Rasman:I told her my wife had difficulty with job at the time.

CO:Took the blue slip and gave me a visa collection date.said I was luckey to have brought the new I864.took my passport returned my old birth certificate.

RASMAN:what about my marriage certificate and new birth certificate.

CO :you will get that later
