About going to the SSA office -- what do I need to bring?

Hi VJers:

Just ready to go to the social security office to update my status, wonder what do I need to bring? Can anybody help me with this? thanks!!

I took my ss card with maiden name, my passport and my greencard. They only looked at the greencard :)

I have found the SS office to be most unhelpful. My policy with them now is to take everything I have and see what they ask for! :)

The filled out form ( http://www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5fs.pdf )and your citizenship certificate.

The only thing different on the form is that in #5 you're checking 'US Citizen'

edit: I cannot remember but you may need your stateid or drivers as well.

I believe the OP is looking to change their citizenship status at the SS office after becoming a citizen. They no longer have a GC.
