Do you need to inform USCIS of a new passport number?

Hi Everyone,

I am due to travel outside of the States with my daughter in a month and in the process of getting everything authorized I have thought of a question. I have recently changed my passport to show my married name and I was wondering if I need to inform the USCIS about this? I am assuming when they swipe my GC at immigration when I arrive back that it will bring up all of my details including my old passport number. I wasn't sure if this mattered or not?

Thanks for any advice.
