Hello VJrs,

As we all know mail service in DR sucks. I recently traveled to DR but i wasn't able to get the Acta de Matrimonio like i planed to, i got screwed again :ot: which makes me think i have no luck and i should quit even before i begin this journey. :ot2: so know my husban has it and i wonder if any one knows any reliable but not so expensive courrier service to the US from DR. He lives in San Francisco de Macoris, i don't know if theres a DHL or fedex or ups or even the price. so anyone who has received mail from their loved one in DR please :help: and let me know anything about sending mail from over there. Anything will help...Thank You!!!

I have used Fed Ex previously. I can relate when you say that the Mail Service does suck. Anyways in regards to FedEx I sent it to my mother's house in La Vega. It got there not problems within 5 days. I beleive that you will be ok with Sending it to San Francisco de Macoris. Also i would suggest that you have her go into the local post office and befriend someone there. That is what my wife did and she receives every letter that i sent her and vice versa. The pricing will vary as to what you are trying to send. Also on the time you want it to get there. You can go to Fedex.com and figure out the rates.

Good luck

I would suggest FedEx, UPS. It is an important document. You don't want that to get lost. Also, try and see if anyone is coming back from DR and you can arrange to get it from them...

Yeah, Fedex is pretty much your option. My husband lives in Puerto Plata and there is an office where all those services are offered (UPS, Fedex etc) He has sent me envelopes and I've received it promply. It is not cheap, but it was his only option. Furthermore, I have to agree with gracenp2 and have him pass by the post office and say hi once in a while lol.

Good Luck!
