Teddy this is not YouTube. Insults are much better when given to someone face to face, not in the protected solitude of your own home. I would feel like i didn't have a backbone if i insulted someone on the computer.

I think people carried the context of your first sentence into your latter sentences, but I get what you are saying. Youtube is where they let the children out to play on the internet.

People have more audacity when they are hiding behind a monitor

and tend to be bolder than if they are face to face

Almost hiding behind a safe persona and I guarantee most of the smack talking (posting) people cannot stand up for themselves in real life.

I also read another post where paramedic put it correctly that one person starts and the rest of the older VJ member join in and gang up on posters and this is lack of backbone...I agreed silenty with him then too.

Dont know if pertains to this thread but I do get it where he is coming from and tend to agree with him

utube or not analogy...

In real life he would earn my respect by the way he can kick your #### in a few hundred ways but doesnt need to post harshly against others to prove he is tough.

just my observation.

I was confused like you are here last week sitting in my advanced astro physics class. Making an A in the class so far but its starting to get a little tough.

The selective moderation on this site is ridiculous. One person whines and cries to the mods and next thing you know posts are deleted and people are thread banned and warned. All the while it's the whiner who is to blame for the problem, but the mods either don't take the time to find this out, or don't care. Funny thing is, the whiner(s) are usually the instigators and their insults are right there, plain as day, but they go either unnoticed or ignored by the mods.

Things can get heated at times depending on the topics, insults are gonna be made, that's never bothered me, and you'll never see me run to the mods because of something someone posted at or to me. If you can't take the heat, then go post in the kiddie section, or grow a backbone.

When is a post actually considered an insult anyway? Is it simply when someone doesn't like what someone else has said, cause that's sure what it seems like. I have had mere observations deleted and been warned simply because the person the observation was directed at didn't like what I said, it didn't matter whether said observation was true or not. Is that the way it works here? All you have to do is complain and posts get deleted, no matter what the true content is? There are insulting posts all over this board, why is it that certain people are given special treatment simply because they whine when they are on the receiving end? Pretty spineless if you ask me.

I thought my irony was bad.
