Hi,

Please i will like to ask if anybody here especially from Malaysia or that has lived in Malaysia before applied for CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT, Please how does it look like? what is the content according to the US Embassy Malaysia requirement which say " Malaysia offers a Certificate of Good conduct based upon statutory declaration alone. This is not sufficient for U.S. immigration purposes. We require that an actual check of Malaysian police records be made, and Certificates of Good Conduct which fail to specify that a check of records has been completed will not be accepted"

I got mine few weeks ago , which is one paragraph letter and says " This is to certify that the government of Malaysia has no Adverse record on me" ... is that what the US embassy needs? I just want to be sure if i have the right document on me, i applied through Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Malaysia and it took me 6 weeks.

Also do i have to go finger print to attached to this letter?

Any body with experience , please share

Regards,

Satu Love

Are you Malaysian? Or Something else? If Something else, that certificate is hard to get.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

What do you mean the paper work filled out? are you talking about the police certificate in Malaysia? if yes , its very easy for both foreigner living in malaysia and Malaysians but it takes times, it takes about 6 weeks to get it. you can only apply online.. if you have any specific question about the process, you can , i will guide you though

hi all,

I'm a Msian citizen and I need to get this cert for my visa.

I read that for the cert, we must include 2 copies of our ic and passport (with signature) with the application. Do these copies need to be certified by Commissioner for Oaths or not? I might have misunderstood the instruction given as it said "for other countries except the following six" which includes the US.

Also, I plan on mailing the application as I don't live in KL and can't go there any time soon. Will that affect the processing duration for my application? We are applying for our visa soon but don't think we'll need the cert for a good month or so.

Thanks for replying, any help is greatly appreciated!

if you like in Malaysia, you can post it and they will send it back to you, but remember to include a self address envelope with stamp

Visit this website : http://www.kln.gov.my/web/guest/online , follow the instruction , fill the form online and print and sent to the putrajaya office.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

Consular Division,

No. 1, Jalan Wisma Putra,

Presint 2,

62602 Putrajaya.

I did not certify any of my documents... i just made photo copies and send them together with the form i filled on line..

After 6 weeks, i was approved.

thank you for the answer! I saw this too late. I called the consular and they said it can be certified by a Headmaster of a local primary/secondary school or any gov servants from Class A (directors etc). How long was it til your status on the website said docs received coz mine says they're not received yet so I'm a little worried since I sent it via express post. Thanks!

thanks "Dragonfly 928", so i read the procedure they said they will not approve if without the police record, is that mean i should go to police department and get the record 1st?

Kwan, you do not go to the police department to get the Certificate of Good Conduct. I believe you have a link posted by Love1 just a few posts above this and it is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya.

Please fill in the form and submit online with the link above and print out two copies. You will need Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to acess the site.

Once the form/application is submitted online, you will receive an email, confirming your application. You will be given 2 weeks to submit your relevant supporting documents at their office in Putrajaya.

I am assuming this is for a Malaysian citizen so the documents are as follows:

Two (2) copies of the duly completed application form for the Certificate of Good Conduct

Two (2) certified copies of identification card

Two (2) certified copies of passport namely pages that contain details and signature of the applicant; and

Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.

Hope this helps. You may apply for this earlier since it takes 1-2 months to process. Processing fee is RM20. If you are unable to self collect the report, you may submit a self-address and stamped envelope too. I chose to self collect as it's safer and quicker than the snail mail!

Good luck!!!
