One of his trips to me was complaining about the screen. He has gotten into one of those sites that bomb you with ads. This was while he was trying to look for where you get "facebook friends" from.

If I recall correctly, Cyrano had one particular lady in mind before he started the deception - he wasn't just trying to catch the next random fly that blundered into the web. Still, I wonder if it might be where Ahmed got the idea...

It was probably copied in an Egyptian movie. Did I ever tell you about the time that Ammar was watching Sound of Music with me and then informed me that this was really an Egyptian movie? I was like ummmm... no... this is a musical based on the biographies of real people. My German teacher in HS went to school with Von Trapp grandkids. Then he realized the Egyptians just copied it and never credited that. Now he doesn't trust anything LOL.

Ahmed's not a terrible person, really. Yes, it's wrong to deceive people. But Mazen was the one who was determined to find a girl for the purpose of getting a green card (meanwhile, his "true love" was in some eastern European country... I forget which one but some place that even an Egyptian wouldn't want to emigrate to.) I think Ahmed was genuinely a lonely guy who just wanted a lady of his own to love... knowing his personality, I don't think he planned to just use her and dump her - he wanted to get married and start a family. They were best friends, and they helped each other get what each one wanted.

I met him online but he was living in NYC at the time. We met in person a month later (after texting and talking on the phone pretty much nonstop, every day). Now, when he's home in the UK, we Skype about 3 times a week. Skype = best invention everrrrrrr.

AHMED & I shared tons of pictures before our first in person meeting... we couldn't get enough pics of each other. Seemed like every 5 minutes we were sending new pics LOL. But I did not see him in real time until I arrived in Cairo. He worked so much plus with the traffic there it was nearly impossible for him to go out to buy the web-cam. He would work between 14- 18 hour days, fight traffic home & come right online with me. So I never really pushed him for the web-cam. He did however have just a regular camera, so he would take pics of himself at work, at home, in the car, at the cafe, lol everywhere he went, then he would upload to his laptop and send to me.

When we first started talking online I didn't have a web-cam. So a few months later on his birthday I decided to surprise him... I bought a web-cam decorated my bedroom in red and pink birthday decor, put on something sexy and waited for him to get home from work. When he got home I told him I have a surprise for you... sent him the invite... and he went crazy LOL

Anyhoooo... Needless to say he seen me on cam before I seen him. After my first trip to Egypt he then surprised me once I was home with the new web-cam he bought. Using the web-cam helped us, but we found cool ways to forgo the use of one if needed. Now of course you all know the rest of our story no longer do we need to use such devices, but it was great to have when we did need it.

reminds me of the other day there was some egyptian music video or something of sorts with a guy singing... but it starts off by playing the tune to the pink panther so i started humming with it.... Adam looked at me like WOW! How did you know this!? lol I was like honey... they stole that from the pink panther movie!
