We got a similar checklist becuase my husband was on a J1 visa in 2006. We didn't really understand why they needed any further information as he would have obviously fulfilled any 2-year home residency requirement attaced to the J1 since he has been living in the UK since 2006. Anyway, we just gave them as much information as we had on his J1 and sent it back to them last week. I'll let you know when we hear anything!

Yeah It seems pretty lame.. The thing I don't understand is that we put all of the on our I-130 petition when we filed with the USCIS. Do these people not cross reference stuff?

Its a bit silly if you ask me.

best of luck to you

Jeff

Hi Guys,

Im about the send my IV packet this week and I am the beneficiary.

I Had a J1 visa in 2010, but the 2 yrs rules doesnt apply for me. What type of papers did you send to the NVC to solve this problem with the prior J1 visa?

So Maybe I can send it right away before they ask.

Thanks a lot!

Pam Ellis
