I was just wondering if anybody knew of any details on how cases are processed? For example, are they taken from a stack and whoever is up next gets processed, or are a bunch assigned to an individual and they go at their own pace?

I've noticed there are some people who filed for AOS almost 2 months after my wife and I did, and they already have interviews schedule (for the Chicago USCIS office). We on the other hand are still waiting with no pending RFEs or anything. I wasn't really nervous because I figured the Chicago office was backed up, but now that I see some others already have interviews scheduled I'm wondering what's going on.

I'm not sure how they are handed out, but since you were missing your biometric fee the first time I would suspect they didn't even start looking at your file until the end of March since biometrics is the very first step. We have some April filers who are still waiting also. My bet is yours is slightly delayed due to the biometrics issue. You are still within normal processing times though, so you just have to be patient.

Ok that's what I was hoping. I figured it would have started being processed as soon as they received the biometric fee, which was less than 2 weeks later. I wasn't really worried until I saw that others from the local Chicago office were getting interviews. I'm just getting antsy. I will continue patiently waiting. Thanks for the reply!
