I was also approved on June 5, but no case number yet. I visited my congresswoman's office today, and filed a request for their help. I was told that I was not the first of their constituents to ask for help regarding the slow processing of petition approval notices sent to NVC. California Service Center told them it is taking 4-6 weeks to process and send approvals to NVC at this time.

I read that one person received their case number quickly. I am happy for them, but others do seem to be waiting 4-6 weeks.

It's continually disheartening to see all these messages of receipt for those who were processed through VSC. I wish that CSC would get their act together and forward the information. The uncertainty is keeping my stomach in knots. Although, I feel like I'll have this to look forward to for some time.

Same. )= In some ways I think VisaJourney can be bad for us because we see all this stuff happening for other people that you normally wouldn't see. And then you get angry, disappointed, depressed, etc. I wouldn't have even known that this step used to take only a few weeks to get through if not for reading all of these threads and things. I would have just thought this was somehow normal. But I went into this thinking NVC was the "fast" part, and surprise, surprise... >_< Oh well, I wouldn't have even got through putting the initial packet together without this site, so it makes up for the burden of this extra knowledge we have to spend time worrying about. =P

Scott,

Did she seem willing to do anything to help you. Or just to tell you that they were backed up, just like we already knew?

Agreed. But I guess fast is relevant. This is fast in comparison to the 5 (+/-) month wait that we just went through. But I still want to see positive movement. I'm getting anxious. I just think it's unrealistic that CSC waits so damned long to forward. And yet VSC seems to be able to send along their petitions to NVC in a very timely manner. That gets my goat (so to speak).

Unfortunately, it seems that she is very timid. I am still waiting for the CSC reply, but she appears to refuse to ask for an explanation from the CSC. I feel we should ask our federal representatives to get answers for government inefficiencies like this. My congresswoman just appears afraid to ask whythere is a delay.
