Once I have received my new case number.

Can anyone advise how I can follow it from here on in? Is there a website to enter your case number and track progress?

Should I call the Consulate occasionally for info. and case status ? Number I can call. Will it piss them off if I keep calling? Will it do any good ? I'm basically just interested in tracking the progress.

Thanks

Congratulations.

Don't bother to call GUZ. They are ok at answering emails if you have a specific question.

DOS is your new best friend. Once your file clears NVC and you have your case number you should be calling DOS every couple of days. See this post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Don't worry about pissing them off they work for you. They can tell you the status of your file within GUZ IV unit. You are waiting to hear P3 sent.

Read this part next http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut

Then thank uncle Darnell

Very true Darnell. Of course, since you are likely one of the forum's main GUZ experts, and so it is not surprising that you might recommend that particular response. However, the second link that Operator gives (also from Darnell  ) is also very helpful in navigating your approved petition through the GUZ. I know that from my own recent experience that I found Darnell's advice and information was very, very helpful and spot-on.

I know that he mentions Wuhan in his profile, but when I was recently in Guangzhou a couple of weeks ago, I half-heartedly looked for Darnell in the park across the street from the GUZ consulate IV unit, keeping an eye on the place, .

Good luck on your visa journey.

Just got the news that P3 was sent to her on 25 July. Now in a rush to complete the forms and send them to the embassy.

cool! Some fella at GUZ IV decided the SAFEFILE version of the casefile was sufficient, and things are moving along.

Get busy, la (and congratulations on calling DoS Hotline checking the casefile status every few days - it means a lot when attempting to shave time)

Thanks Darnell

Actually I didn't call fast enough. It was already in the mail 4 days.

Note to others: Once your I-129F is approved and sent to DOS get on it right away. The mail moves from USA to the GUZ4 way faster than I thought, and once they get it they act on it fast.

I'm sure your hard copy hasn't gotten anywhere near the GUZ mailroom yet. The SAFEFILE version uncle Darnell is talking about is electronic. She might have her visa and be in the US by the time that DHL package gets out of the lock-up.

You got that right. I suspect that our paper file may be finally released from customs warehouse purgatory. For us, it is moot. We have their visas, they will be arriving in less than a month. God bless SAFEFILE!!!

I read, often with much amusement, general K-1 forum threads about folks wondering/bemoaning how long it takes their actual paper case file to travel from NVC to the interviewing consulate. I suspect that they would stroke out if they had to deal with the "Chinese connection." The "Chines connection," is my term for the bilateral treaty agreement whereby each country, US and China, can and do delay delivery of diplomatic packets through impoundment in customs warehouses.....cat-and-mouse games......

That is another reason why the vets on this regional forum are great. They know the issues and the remedies to these vexing issues.
