Husband wants to start a new job

My husband wants to leave his old job and start a new one before we submit my AOS applications. Since I am new to this process I need some help. Is there a requirement for the AOS process of how long he has to be employed(eg. 90 days etc.) at his new job before we can send in our applications? Any advice would be much appreciated.

No, this is not a problem at all. When he submits the affidavit of support (I-864), he should provide proof of his new job and income, since he won't be able to reply on previous year's tax returns. This includes: (1) a letter from his employer confirming employment and salary, and (2) recent pay stubs showing income.

My husband moved to new job on November 1st and we files Nov 15th. There was no problem at all. But your husband have to get the letter of employment from the new employer that states his salary.

After filing, it will take you 3-4 months to the interview, you should keep his pay stubs to bring to the interview. I had them with me to the interview, but anyway, the officer who interviewed me didn't ask for them.

Good luck! (F) (F)
