embassy assigns case and Forwards to NVC ?? You sure about that ?

Well let me say my source learned it directly from NVC and shared the info with me. Makes total sense when you think about it, the embassy has many cases that don't go through NVC so there is no way for NVC to know what case number the embassy is at without checking with them.

Yeah i guess never thought about it. So when NVC receives a packet they notify the Embassy and the Embassy gives them an MNL to assign to it. I know the NVC forwards the packet to Manila after the MNL is assigned

Can you please tell me how you obtained your case number from Manila first before the NVC?

I just got off the phone with the Manila Embassy and The nice lady on the phone had never

heard of such a method of obtaining a visa #. She said I would have to wait to hear from the NVC

or from the Manila Embassy by mail??? If you have time please share how you were able to do this.

Kind Regards,

Jesse

This one has me puzzled. I never known hank to post bad info, but I do know that you get your case mnl from NVC before yor packet goes to Manila. I think maybe he is saying they tell them the case number. Not sure

HI, i emailed them(NVC & USEM) at the same time last june 12th, and june 15th got a response first from USEM with my case number and from NVC got june 21st.Below is the email from USEM i got last june 15th.

We received the electronic file from the State Department's National Visa Center (NVC) today, June 15, 2012, and should receive the U.S. Immigration Service-approved visa petition (Form I-129F) shortly. Your case number is MNLxxxxxxxxxx.

As soon as we receive the I-129F petition from NVC, you will be notified to contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center to schedule the visa interview appointment.

The Embassy’s website at http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html contains instructions for K1 visa applicants regarding the required procedures to follow prior to the interview date. The website also contains the visa information packet and forms which you may download, as needed.

I can believe the embassy wanting everyone to contact NVC as that is the "procedure" and the embassy has enough phone calls and emails to handle without searching MNL # within their system.

I don't recommend contacting the embassy instead of NVC for you MNL #.

Yes it is, if your embassy is the Manila embassy. You need the MNL case number to pay the Visa fee before you can schedule the interview appointment. Once you pay the fee, give it enough time to be processed into the system, you can make the appointment either online or by calling the embassy. Online is a bit easier, but there you need to enter the beneficiary's passport number where they ask for a number.

Thanks! I'm trying to forecast how it might all play out so I can plan to be there for the interview next Philippine Summer. Knowing this and other tips you mentioned has helped put things into perspective.

Thanks again.

Forecast? VJ Plan chart? Someone playing dress-up?

Hahaha... Was that supposed to be an insult? It's a good thing you have being an "expert" on VJ as your claim to fame, because a comedian, you're not. So while you're on here every day expounding your knowledge of the Fiance(e)/Marriage Visa process as people read in reverence, I'll be "playing dress-up" in the real world, which affords me the ability to not care about what you have to say around here.

Nothing about what you wrote here is in the least bit funny, or even makes sense. Please... please stop disrupting other people's threads with nonsense. You should also stop stalking and harrassing me just because you didn't like hearing the truth before. It's very unattractive, and I'm not so sure you can afford to lose any more "pogi points".

Peace, Brother.
